If you had $5,000.....
would you buy
a) a full sts turbo kit with methanol injection to run at 8psi
b) t-rex cam package, 12 bolt, spec 3 clutch, full suspension kit
c) something else?
i think the turbo would give me around 450rwhp but going with the trex cam and suspension is a little bit more for my money in a way. What do you guys think?

All the horswpower in the world won't help the car handle any better. I would say get all the handling mods done first, then take a race driving class and invest in YOURSELF to be a better driver. Then after that rethink cam vs. turbo.

just as everyone else will say, it dont do no good to have all that power and not beable to put it to the ground! i'd get a 12 bolt and while you are gettin that installed, go ahead and get some suspension work done!

So you are saying spend the $5000 towards a 12bolt rearend, suspension and a heads and cam kit? It's possible to lay down 450rwhp with a heads and cam setup right?

I would go head and cam route. You will need a clutch for sure. At the least the rear suspension/ control arms...PHR...Trq.arm.... wheel hop is not your friend with a stock rear end...If your going to do the install yourself... You could buy more goodies with that 5G.....

I would go with a turbo kit...but you'll run out of money if you only have 5G's to throw at it.
Next best would be H/C & nitrous...always nitrous. Replace the rear end when it grenades.

my father owns a repair shop so everything will be free as far as installation. I have $5,000 to spend on just parts alone
Im just so conflicted on what to do. I always wanted a turbocharged car, i think turbos are really cool. Getting a sts turbo kit seemed such a great idea but the issue of traction comes into play and from what i have read its possible to attain close to 500lbs of torque if running the turbo at around 8psi.........good bye stock rearend if i ever launch hard!
the safetiest route would be a
moser 12bolt rearend - $2,000
T-Rex Camshaft package from TR - $900ish (including oil pump and timing chain)
Spec 3 clutch - $450
Dynotune from east side - $550
Ported and powdercoated TB - $130
ASP pulley - $250
Nice set of tires - $500
that seems like a good shopping list no? If i got all that above, plus what i have already, what kind of numbers would I throw down? I'm looking to get around 420rwhp. If i can get 420hp out of that setup there then i'll probably go with it. If not, then sts it is and i'll risk blowing up the rearend
p.s. My intentions are purely street racing for my car. I dont plan on going to the track more then once.

I wouldnt get a sts kit...I was looking at that one, but there are so many extras you need that bump up their low price (yet it is getting more expensive by the day). I am getting a TTi kit....check out their site. It is a better setup then the sts, plus the only extras you need are injectors and a tune http://www.turbotechnologyinc.com/

technically it is complete. But if you want your car to run right, you need injectors and blow off valve whic comes out to about $1k more. Plus if you want to run higher than 5psi you need the alky or a self fabbed intercooler. So if you aske me, the only advantage is the installation....Which isnt a draw for me.
Plus with the TTi kit you dont have to worry about ripping off your whole turbo system in a skirt across a median, or a bad pothole, etc. Also you have better upgrade options with a TTi kit, because the sts probably dosnt have the ability to make the same power. then again, the sts hasnt been taken to the top yet.
