I run over 7 quarts in mine, but it has a bigger oil pan so it's normal oil change capacity is 6.5 quarts.

i agree, check the dipstick after running the engine to pass oil through the filter because it could be a difference of 1/2 qt. also you will not see a loss of oil pressure untill you are very low on oil. years ago i saw my oil pressure flicker and when i pulled over it needed 4 quarts on a6qt. pontiac engine. remember the pick up is at the bottom of the pan so don't go by the oil pressure.

Your suppose to check the oil on a warm engine, level ground, after it has been setting a little, 5 min or so. And I agree with backpay, don't go by oil pressure to determine if you have enough oil in it.

BULLSHIT, just because your engine doesnt respond to extra oil dont mean ****.

For the record I went from bogging on a 5000 dump to pulling both wheels on my way to a 1.45 60' with an extra 1/2 quart. The extra 1/2 quart keeps things quieter so my car doesnt get knock retard.

You guys reallyu need to try this.

P.S. just remember to drain the 1/2 quart out if you have to take your car in for service or it will void the warranty
