Gears
Well my RPO code is GU2, which equals 2.73 gears supposedly, but i have a first gear option in my automatic, which I have read and heard that GM did NOT put a first gear option with there 2.73 gears. And floored from a stop I spin all the way through first gear and half of second. I have 245/50 R16's Maybe some advice? I am also planning on putting headers on as well, maybe some good advice here too? Im going with the true duals setup/xpipe/bullets-dumped. And I am also getting an MTI or SLP air lid. With my 98 A4,...approximately what should I be running in the qtr mile and what horsepower should i be pushing? THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Ok thanks, so that manually shifting into 1st with the auto/2.73 gears must've started in 97 or 98 im guessing. ANd im not sure i want to go out with drag radials just yet, whats some decent suspension that I can put on that will help me take off without so much spin.

i havent got any suspension work yet, but im looking into BMR and QA1, and ive been to the track a few times, with 2.73s you wont see much wheel spin so dont worry about drag radials yet

check your RPO code, i got 2.73 (GU2) and have G-Force KDWS and get no wheel spin at the track at all, if you have the GU5 you have the 3.23, or if you have a M6(which i noticed you dont),or when the car was ordered, it was ordered with GU6 then you have 3.42 and if you have a 3.42 i believe you also have an aluminum driveshaft, and if you didnt know where the RPO label is, its in the driverside doorjam stuck to the door itself

also if your label is torn up or missing, you can use one of these calulators, ive tryed it before, its not perfect but close enough to let you know what gear you have https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....1&postcount=13
