Default Stock Rebuild

How much is a typical stock rebuild on the LS1?
New timing chain, new bearings, hone, rings, all that stuff, typical cost in that? with me doing the tear down and build back.

Say upgrade the oil pump and ARP rod bolts. How much is all that stuff, the new head bolts and misc stuff?

Not too many people getting stock rebuilds. Most figure "While I'm in there". They usually will go with at least a decent set of forged pistons and good rod bolts. Some will take the extra step and put in a good set of rods. Most of the Sponsors sell a forged short block for around $2800-3400ish. Just a stock rebuild will really depend on what you are rebuilding. The condition of the cylinders, valve guides, valve seals, balanced, etc. Give me a little more info on what you are wanting/needing.

I have a stock rebuild done, i threw Forged pistons in, but everything was stock...Now i had the machine shop tear it out, and rip it apart. Costs me $4800...

For you it should cost about $3000 w/ new crank
OR
$2300 W/O Crank

FMS quoted me $1600 to freshen up my block, which is why I'm waiting to do it once and right(either 383, or new block and 408).
