were your windows open or closed? I had my ttop fly off when i had my window partially down maybe yours just did it a little differently? I really dont know what to think...body flex eh i mean if you went over a huge bump at the same time ok maybe feasible, bird shitting rocks possible but you didnt find any evidence, bad gas feasible but it depends on what you had eaten in the last 24hrs...i honestly dont know man but alot of people are having issues with ttops lately.

Both windows were up and the heater was on. It was 50 degrees and misty/foggy type weather. The top was still firmly locked in place.

theres a guy in town, ive beentold this by several but never saw it, that supposedly cracked hsi windshield twice due to chassis flex. his rear quarter panel is also creased.

Went out at lunch today and washed the Z real good, the glass cascading down the back of the car took out HUNDREDS of little paint chips, the car is black so the chips are pretty horrendous looking with the white primer One chunk must have been pretty large cause it took a good little chunk out of the inside of the spoiler.

Is the tint on the back windows of these cars typically applied to the inside or outside of the back window? Because the flying glass also left white nicks on the OUTSIDE of the back window, they are deep because you can feel them with your finger.

yeah this guy did it the fast way!!

i've heard of a highly modified GMC syclone (all-wheel drive factory turbo s-10 if ya were wondering) launching so hard that the windshield cracked.

i also saw this car with hydros pull into a parking lot on 3 wheels at a cruise one night, when he sat it down, the back window shattered all over the street.

My buddy scott johnson exploded the passenger side t-top of his 81 camaro when we were parking in a parking lot one night. We parked under one of those power lines that runs from the ground to the pole. It scraped the top of the passenger t-top.

Well as soon as we heard scrape we both said "oh shiznit"

So he pulled forward and just as the car rolled for about .001 seconds, CRASH!!! The huge *** t-top cam crashing down on my head. I had a hat on at the time (a fisherman style hat, not a ball cap) and i think that prevented serious damage to my noggin. It was a night to remember.

I was eating one of those McDonald's flurries at the time and i just remember feeling all sorts of pain on my head and looking down at ice cream and glass. I can never eat another mcflurry again.

It was a leprechaun. Those little bastards are everywhere. I went to wash my car one day, I opened the door, out popped that lil bastard. He looked at me, I looked at him, he punched me in the nuts and took my wallet .........but, I got his girl , except she looks like rosanne, only, short.

Tints on the inside if aftermarket, either part of the glass or a "middle layer" if factory tint.
Something had to hit your car...fine scratches on the spoiler and deck lid I can see happening if the glass shattered OUTWARD from the car... but I can't imagine a significant amount of glass going outside of the car (vs falling in) at 50mph unless there was one heck of a pressure buildup inside. What did make it out, to have such velocity to scratch the glass and take paint to primer or metal...Not saying I doubt your story in any way, just think something must have hit ya!
