Drop the clutch on any car from the factory at 7k and somethings gonna break. I would like to see you rev a factory mustang to 7k and drop the clutch or rev it to 7k.

it well known among the s2k crowd that there clutches arent long for this world with 8k clutch dumps needed just to break the 14 second barrier.

with 153 lb-ft of tq at likee 7500rpm how else do you think they get there 13.9 e.t? i believe one of the mag editors did a comparo and did 8k and 5k dump, the 5k was over a second slower.

Ok...I hit 7K rpm all the time. Dropping the clutch at 7K isn't happening though.

Yeah, a thread with a title like "Fbody = poor quality" isn't insulting at all, is it? I can't beleive that you didn't realize it would get some people upset.

Is your mustang stock? Can they hit that from the factory (wheres rev limiter set)? I geuss the ohc engines probably rev better than the old push rod design huh

have you ever seen a 4.6 OHC dyno, they rev very freely.

100% stock.

We're all stock 'round here. Didn't you know that?

I'm not saying one design is better. They are both incredible. Let's not turn this thread into THAT arguement. My motor is bone stock and has no problems revving to 7K. The factory limiter has been bumped up of course.

One of the downfalls to a forum with so many owners of the same type of car is that you will see any and every problem that is known to man which when added all up can be a little misleading.

I think the one that posted this thread is probably a Mustang owner just starting some chit probably, or maybe a Ford fan that just happens to have an F-Body.

The thread is totally useless at this forum when you think about it. If you do in fact have an LS1 car and get annoyed at some of its problems and need a little pick me up, then just go blow away a couple of Mustangs. That will pick your spirits up.

Look - it's as simple as this. Cars are machines. Machines wear out. All of them. Machines break - even with proper maintenance. All of them, if they're run long enough.

As far as fit and finish goes, who gives a crap? I drive a Chevy. You want fit and finish? Buy a Rolls or a Bentley. But you know what? They'll wear out and they'll break just the same if you drive them long enough.

The fit and finish in my car is not show car quality - show car quality guys look at things like gaps around the door and around the hood for how wide the gap is and if it's the same all along the length of the gap. Getting a car THAT good costs LOTS of money.

For me it's all about this: I have a Camaro SS. I've wanted one for almost 20 years, and I now have one.

I like my car to look decent inside and out, but I certainly don't expect show car quality in a Chevy, even if it's brand spanking new, even if it costs $30,000. Like I said, it's just a Chevy.
