As mentioned, I don't see any reason that these engines couldn't go 130k miles or more if they're maintained. Just have to remember that mods will shorten the life, but it should still last a long time. When it goes, its a great oppurtunity to build a forged engine....

124K on my 98 Trans Am. Runs great. Its still bone stock, except for SLP lid. 13.70@104. The only problem Ive had is the Trans went out last month (not racing), but the previous owner still had a warranty on it. So he took it back and they repaired it for FREEEE....

I think these engines can last 200k if cared for the right way. I think I read where someone had over 200k on their 97 vette. This was over a year ago so he probably has many more now.

Just keep the car and rebuild it if the engine blows.

After reading this I an a little more confident in buying a 99-00 Trans Am with over 55k on it. I was only considering buying one with less then that, but I guess I will go a little higher on the mileage. Also where do you people drive your cars to, mine is a 94 and I have 107k and I thought that was a lot.

Damn straight. One reason I bought my my WS6 was the aesthetics (I am a proff. artist.)...fbody's are gorgeous.
