WS-Sick got it..Im a 16 year old skinny guy that works flipping burgers. As for the car i got it for 12,000 with 80,000 Miles. I got a $5000 downpayment. Im going to pay my first payment in a couple of weeks (187.00). 400-187=213. 213 bucks a month for the car. The gas? My first car was/is a 1995 Geo Metro that doesnt waist nothing of gas.I use that. Its like 10 bucks a week after a big week of use. Yeah..sometimes its like 5 bucks. Insurance..thankfully my dad is paying that. DOnt think im spoiled. Trust me. Its hard raising 5000 bucks flipping burgers. Anyways...thanks for the help(keep posting for suggestions. Remember i have around 213 bucks free. I need advice on this exhaust setup:
Hooker Headers LT's
Mufflex y-pipe
GMMG Cat Back

I got the idea from http://www.ls1sounds.com/gmmg.htm. I want a mean sounding car and this just hits the spot. My brother said he will help me out with like 300 bucks. And im willing to save for a while for that setup. Funny how flipping burgers can give you a lot...

Oh and yes Im happy with the car. But I love cars(even though i know very little). In my little town the only thing that might be better is a WS6 Trans Am. Its those yellow ones that are special edition. He smoked me when i was driving my brothers 00 Mustang GT(did 14.3's at the 1/4). Ha..i hope he doesnt read this. Another car in my little town is a 00 lightning and 70 Nova that does like 12.9's. Dont get me wrong. Im not here to compete but like I said. Cars fasinate me. Even my GEO. When I shift that baby in gear all you feel is the rush...ha.

Go for it dude, that's the same setup I'm going to be getting, but don't forget the high-flow cats!

Tell me about the rush thing, My first car was a Geo Prizm, I raced that thing against anyone that would race me ( go 1.4L auto 175k miles! ) and normally lost because the thing pegged out at 85mph and my second and current car is a 94 Dodge Intrepid which I think is fairly quick (until I race someone ) so I'm in for a shock this summer... just remember one thing, do not screw yourself and race on the street. No matter how bad you want to, save it for the track. My insurance is only 63 bucks a month on the 99 TA and I'm only 22 years old. So please, respect your car and the power it can produce, don't wanna see another wrecked f-body or even worse, you dead.

Take care...

Excellent choice on the ehaust set up. Save up for it, see if you can find the GMMG and the Cats used. It may save you $300 or more in the end. Only other suggestion I can give, is to respect the car's power.

Yes i understand the matter of respecting my car. I love my SS. I wouldnt race on the street. Thats only for my Geo. My Geo is the street monster. I dont know if i want to take the ss on the track either. I just want something nice. I also want a nice interior and stuff. Thanks to all.

Anyways, u wanna talk about the "rush". Well on my geo, when your going around the city picking up the ladies, you feel the rush. No AC so u open up the windows. Then my grill has a huge dent. Making my Ram Air system more efficient. WoooOo...its a great fealing fealing the cool breeze in your hair while foing max speed(70mph) on The Geo...

Well, im a 16 year old with a trans am, and I said at first that I wasnt going to race and that i could control the power. Well, i race now, and I got in one wreck in the rain(all i can say is be VERY VERY careful)! Good luck with the car. I know how it feels to be so young and have so much power. Oh, and I have a GMMG catback on mine and have got nothing but compliments on the sound. Its not THAT loud inside, but my father says he can hear me a good mile or so away when I get on it. Girls parents love when I come to pick up their daughters in a loud fast car.

If you go to back to LS1sounds.com My car is the borlamouth, SLP EXHAUST, removed the resonator, for a XR1 muffler, pacesetters headers, TR224 cam, and lid. With that set up, it made 410 rwhp.. Good luck, to whatever you decide to do .

I think you should wait until UNICEF starts giving out LS1 mods. On a tight budget you would be better off spending your cash on girls. If you have to mod, you should get a lid and a (nice) catback and call it a day.

i was 16 when i got my 93, and just turned 18 when i got my SS just be CAREFUL don't feel like you haft to impress your friends, let them guess what you car can do. No need to do a burnout every day after school.

as for mods i'll give the ones i have and the prices i payed and they are working GREAT for me.

SLP lid(used w/ new K&N -$120 all together
Free Ram Air
Descreened MAF
Cut out- $50 installed <---if your cutting it close there is no reason to drop $600 on a damn cat back. Save GMMG for the 35 year old owners with full time jobs
Pro 5.0 used ($110) then i took the stick to a machine shop and the cut it shorter for free for me.
Fast Toys Ram AIr-$100 used
SLP bellow - $20 used, didn't add power but looks better
Nitto's - $220 used

these mods work great becuase they all compliment eachother with increased intake and exhuast air.

My next advice would be to make sure you always run Mobil 1 full synthitic*, with a Wix filter and change every 3,500

i didnt mean to insult anyone i just wouldnt want to spend any extra money on mods with a tight budget.yes youre young but how bout trying to save some money and maybe get a second job or look for a better paying one.that shouldnt be hard.

but mods that are cheap are a lid, filter and maybe look into some type of ram air kit.

that just might come in under your budget.have fun.

Like others have said, if you only make $400/month, you should save your money.

gmmg is a very expensive exhaust for someone thats only gonna have 200 and change a month for mods. he would basically be saving up for 4 months just for exhaust...do yourself a favor, get headers and a cut out. cut out = $30-45...completely bypasses the muffler so your getting the most unrestricted set up their is (not counting open headers)

Get a loan and buy all of my stuff. I'll sell it all to you minus the STB and EGT gauge for $2200 and your car will be in the mid/low elevens with 550rwhp/600rwtq.
