Default Mystery squeek. Can anyone help me find it?

Ok, for a while now, my car's been making a chirping noise at idle. It speeds up when I revv the engine.

Belt right? So I got it swapped out today, and it still squeaks!

I'm not sure what else could be causing this. The new belt seems like it's on tight enough too.

Tensioner or idler pulley - had the same problem. Mine was the tensioner.

Good idea. How difficult is it to replace that? Does anyone have a part number?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Find out which one it is first - no sense throwing parts in till it goes away. You can usually isolate the noise by sticking your head under the hood with the car idling. Have a friend rev it a tiny bit, or do it manually if you know how. If not, heed the warning below:

Warning for minors and rookies that might read this:

Keep long hair, loose clothing, jewelry and ALL body parts out of the engine compartment while the engine is running!!
