Trans Am OR Ws6
i was wondering how much of a price difference could you find from a 01-02 ws6 to trans am? ive been looking and it seems to be alot cheaper for a trans am. but the only real reason why i would want the ws6 is for of course the hood, but could u buy a hood from like gm or something after you bought a trans am? becuase i knw slp sells the h/o hood which is kind of similar
thanks

The hood from GM will cost you $1800ish. If I was you I would look into an aftermarket one. They can be had between $500-$800. The WS6 has more to offer than just the hood. We're talking 17x9 wheels and wider tires, better flowing catback, emblems, raised lower airbox to match the "ram air" hood, bigger swaybars, powersteering cooler, supposedly different tuned suspension as far as shocks/springs, and of course the hood. But I agree, the hood is the biggest thing that seperates them. Good luck with your shopping

i bought a TA, with the thought of eventually getting a hood. The only advantage ive had with not having a ws6 is that people automatically (ricers) think its slow and try to mess with you. little do they know its a 10 hp difference, which can easily be made up and then some with lid, exhaust, headers and TB. this isnt really an advantage to not getting the ws6, but its sort of a plus.
If u want the prestige of the ws6 TA, then get it. It gets alot more respect than TA's do, from my personal exp.

when i first got my t/a i put a flowmaster on it (still have) everything stock. I got a street race with a prelude and he thought that my car was a v6 with exhaust. untill I killed him in the race. Dumb ricers just because you don't have a ram air hood they think your car is a slow v6. I like the sleeper look. Now the way my car looks and sounds i can't even get a street race. Oh well so much for the sleeper look.

Yeah, I get a lot of "Is is a Ram-Air?" comments and then the "oh" after I tell them its not. One guy thought that only the ram-air's could get 6 speeds. Anyways, I used the money I saved by not getting a WS6 to get some mods. I might add a hood later though. As far as the wheels, many change the stockers even if they have the WS6. Just another thing to consider.

Those are some of the other reasons I got the WS6 besides the hood that is...
If you get the TA and do an aftermarket hood you will want to get the air lid as well since it sits about 1 inch higher and was designed for the WS6 ram air hood.

Yes, the WS-6 looks meaner than the camaros, esp the Z28's. But is it really wroth the time, effort and money? I guess that if you want one badly enough, go for it. I wanted a WS6 when I got my car but they were going for $2k-$3k more which is rediculous. Got a HELLUVA deal on this car anyway.

If you plan on converting it to a WS6 anyway, after you pay for the hood and painting and install it, and get the airbox youre probably going to spend as much as or more than the difference in price between the TA and WS6.
Also, it feels good knowing youve got an authentic WS6; at least for me it does.

I have been a T/A boy up until this car. this is only the 2nd 4th gen camaro as opposed to 6 or 7 T/A's. But i like em both, the SS has the curves, but a WS6 looks meaner than all seven circles of hell. i like my SS, mainly because its 6spd. all my t/a's were a4's. But...a ws6 m6 would be a nice edition, but i like the rarity of an SS. IMO its harder to find an SS as opposed to a WS6.

Why?, becuase I like the way Ws6's look man. A 98+ ws6 has the meanest front facsia*spelling* of any other car Ive ever seen. period.
