SS or Not? (Revisited)
I contacted my local dealer who looked up my car and said that it has the SS package. I dont have the Wu8 RPO code but i do have everything that an SS comes with except the wheels. The guy i bought the car from has 2 other camaros of the same body style and i think he may have kept the wheels. I decided to go in search of the truth after some guys were telling me that my car didnt look like an SS, "something about the body..." they said. I dont think there is any body difference between my car and an SS. They also thought it was a z-28 because it was an automatic, they were under the impression that all SS camaros were "5 speeds." After hearing all this i concluded that they didnt know ****. But i still dont know if my car is an SS or z-28. Can the dealership even look my car up and find out or was the service guy talking ****?

Yeah i've heard that a thousand times, which is why my sig saya z-28. But why would the dealership guy say that it has a SS package. THe 98 SS camaros aren't nay different than the 99-02's are they? Somewhere on here i read that not all 98s were sent to SLP, or something like that.

yeah, dealers dont know ****. theres one in town with an 02 pewter GT mustang a4 and they have "bullet" written on it and tell everyone that it is a bullet. but yet, bullets were only made in on 01, they could not be had in tan, and all were 5spd. they also came with red brembo calipers which, that car didnt have. its just cuz the guy before had put the bullet badge on the back, they thought it was. they are morons. the sad thing is, this isnt a used dealer in some hole in the wall, its a new car GM dealer. call SLP.

everyone who knows what the hell they are doing are doing more important jobs than selling cars. lol. if you meet a good dealer, and one who is intelligent, keep that dealer.

I never said i was unwilling to call slp. They are closed, i sent them an email but i'll probably end up calling tomorrow. I never really cared because i got the car so cheap, but i get so many different answers as to what it is that i've been starting to wonder.

Alright here is the tally: Dealer says yes RPO codes say no
Old Guy i bought the car from says yes LS1Tech community says no
All of my yes answers have been discredited due to the fact that the dealer doesn't know ****. All the no answers are fairly definitive. Its not looking good for my wannabe SS. Just waiting on SLP for what looks like the third and final no. I knida wish it was an SS, but i still got one of the fastest cars out of all those guys, its just that they won't believe it simply for the fact that it is not an SS.
