Default Which order of bolt-ons should i go?

Hello all. I have a 99 TA with a few mods. Borla Cat back, granatelli MAF, underdrive pullys, Suncoast Ram Air with WS6 hood, Hotchkis strut tower brace and SFC's, and Eibach kit lowered 2 inches. I want to get LT's (probably pacesetters due to their price but may get some stainless if money comes around) and an ORY (Not sure of brand for that) I also want a to get a stall. Im pretty set on getting a fuddle 3800 with 2.5 STR. I dont think 3600 is enough and 4000 may be too much for street use everyday. I also was looking at LS6 intake and ported TB. This car will be everyday daily driver but my goal is to try and get low 12s or high 11s if possible before cam and nitrous. Money is an issue right now so i iwll do stuff part by part. What do you think i should get first and than what after, etc. Thanks

Converter first. Then get some lts and the ls6 intake. If you are going with a off road application do the lts and intake at the same time.

A4 = Stall first -- crazy gains at the track.

Skip the bolt ons and go for forced induction.

I've always had two school of thoughts on this issue.

First: Replace the most restrictive parts first

Second: Work from the outside in. Start with a cat-back then do headers and Y. Start with lid then do bellows, ls6 intake, etc.

I like the second one the most I think cause if I start from the furthest from the motor and work my way in then when I hit the motor all the supporting mods will be inplace.

Get the stall first. Wish I had done that first!

Just realized you were in Michigan. PM me if you need a place to put that stall in, I've got a great shop in mind. Also, you should come for a ride with me in my 3500 stall 2.5. Just so you can get a feel for the stall before you buy one. I've already done most major bolt-ons with the exception of a ported TB (coming soon). Let me know if I can be of help.

Subframe connectors should be at the top of your list also, in my opinion.

This is from my experience with a 3rd gen Iroc with a stall (3k IIRC) Don't know if it holds true for the 4th gens
If you do the stall, don't forget to add an extra trans cooler, the upped stall speed will create more heat in the trans fluid, and auto trannys hate heat. It makes them die quicker

SFC's are a great idea.

i would go
-stall (with all necessary components)
-lt's with ory and ls6 intake with ported tb

the second one doesnt matter, either or will net you some good hp. just depends which one you cna afford, although they are abuot the same price, but the intake is easier to install yourself. i would then think about getting some tuning done, or get your own tuning stuff

Hello, well as stated at the top, i already have SFCs so thats one thing i dont need to do. So im thinking of getting a fuddle 3800 stall with 2.5 str and trans go shift kit with B&M 24,000 supercooler. Hopefully i can get that all installed for $1000. Than i iwll go LTs (pacesetters more than likely) and ORY and cut out, Hopefully i can get that done for for udner $800. Than the LS6 intake and ported TB for less than a grand also i hope. Hopefully that all will get me high 11's low 12's. Thanks. All this input is great. Keep it comin.

Livernois has done all of the work on my current car and my last three Mustangs and I've been very happy with the service I received.

With an auto car, I'd definitely do a stall!

High 11's on stock cam? I take it you're planning on a little weight reduction and more suspension mods? Nice choice on the shift kit...stay away from the B&M one, it raises line pressure...not too good. What kind of tires are you running? Good advice in a previous thread...do the intake and the headers at the same time, makes it MUCH easier. Good luck. That 3800 should be nasty.

I was gonna post up a thread about this exact thing, but then decided with what I had heard prior to do the TC first. I just ordered a shift kit and tranny cooler. Not to steal the thread or anything but KPOWR82 I live in Shelby twp and would like to see what a stalled car drives like before I actually purchase one. Please PM me and maybe we can meet up sometime.

Hello. Yea, i am def doing a 3800 stall and trans go shift kit w/ cooler next. Than will prolly be some LTs and Y with cut out and lastly the intake with ported TB. Right now my tires are bald and am getting some within a week or two. I am still undecided. I want a sticky tire that lasts long but of course those two things dont come hand in hand. I was thinking either BFG KDW or Perelli PZero, but i have also eard good thing about daily driving with nitto 555 DRs on rear and reg nitto 555s on front. Still undecided. I do need them to last however and not go real quick. I wont be at the the track much. Rims are 18x8.5s so im thinking of going 245/40 i nfortn and 275/40 i nrear. Later and keep the info coming. Ill more than likely have livernois do the work for me.

If u want the order power wise then check my sig.
Chassis and suspension bolt-ons, SFC a must and after that it all depends on the setup u want. If u want a road course setup then stiffer suspension parts are needed. The opposite for a drag setup. Good luck.
