You can usually get an SS for a few thousand more than a Z if you look. In the long run if you add all the options pluss paint/labor/shipping you would be better off getting an SS to start. The SS will allways be worth at least that mutch more than a comparable Z.
Like stated several times before, get what fits your taste.
Also, aftermarket parts suck all around in quality and fit, nothing beats OEM.

No if you've got the extra dough, then go for the SS. With a tad bit better suspension, appearance such as spoiler and hood, etc. If you plan on modding it anyway, get the Z and use the extra money to make it much faster than a stock SS.

Honestly I don't think SS isn't better then the z28.
But I think the SS would hold its value alot better then the comparable z28.
if you want, buy the hood, spolier, and wheels aftermarket save thousands.
Personally, I like the look of the z28, because I think the hood is intrusive, and the spoiler doesn't blend with the rest of the car. Perhaps thats why I like the GTO.

Either way your getting a Camaro, I got a Z because I was looking for a 93-97 for a good price with decent miles, I love Z's and SS's, espically the 96 SS's. But if I was you, and you have the extra cash, go with the SS.

if you like the looks of the SS, then i would go ahead and save up for one now instead of getting a z28 and changing the hood/spoiler/wheels. like somone said before the OEM stuff has a better fit and finish than aftermarket, so may as well have it all done when you buy it. performance wise, they are too close to compare, just get what you like the best.

ok so u guys say OEM fits better...then go to GM and get the hood...i went to the dealership i work at (chevy dealer) he quote me 1500 for the hood and 700 for the spoiler..i got my hood painted for 260 and the spoiler for 140 so thats what...2600...and u can find a Z28 for around 9-12 + the 2600 is still cheaper than most SS's u find...and especially if u find a stripper Z28 it will weigh much less than any SS...but if u want a car that holds its value get the SS hands down...but i would just get a Z and throw on the SS stuff or whatever u like instead...

I plan on hanging on to my car for a while... and as the years pass.... I think that the SS will be the car the collectors go after.
I liked the looks of the SS over the Z28, the Z28 has really nice clean lines, I like clean lines, but I also wanted something to break a few up of those lines up.
If you are just out for performance and dont care about aesthetics... then by all means find a nice z28..... The SS is largely an Apperance package

I love the SS because it stands out. Not saying that all camaros dont stand out but the SS is different people always tell me they love my car and how hard it is to find one like I have.
