Hey guys i may be joining the LS1 world...
hey dude's i have a 1992 Mustang Convertible right now that is heavily modified...dont get me wrong i love the car to death...but i wanted your opinion, i found a 98 Z28 for 6 grand, 75,000 miles on everything except the motor (2000 miles on the new one after he blew the first one so you know its been driven hard.) anyway i was wondering if this was a good deal? here are the pros and cons of it..
Slp lid
Mac Headers/y-pipe
Magnaflow catback
EGR/AIR Delete
Poly Tranny mount
New Goodyear Tires
Billet Grill
Front lights/Rear lights cover
All other lights black out
NO A/C but the compressor has been put back on just needs new dryer
Rear end starting to make noise
VATS system turns on and off, (this means sometimes it wont pick up teh resitor on the key and the car wont turn on till it turns off, 3 mins later) has to be fixed or deleted with ls1edit
Needs new Tach
76,000 miles
Tan leather intrior
T-Tops
Auto
how much would a new rearend be?

Looks as if the pics are from before all performance mods, i can't tell if it has headers but it certainly still has the EGR and AIR system, you can clearly see that.

I would also hold off and look for another ls1. these are great cars, but who knows if the dude really knew what he was doing when he put in the new motor, or if he even did proper maintenance. Id let this one go, and search for something better. Depending on location you can find a 98 with decent mileage for 8-9k. I would definetly go with a 100k mileage 98 that has been well taken care of, versus that 75k abused one!
