Yea I already go it tuned, i'm not thinking about changing the MAF. If its a must to get it tuned again then I guess I'll have to spend another 550 but if not screw it. I for sure have the money but I'll already spent like 5K on my car and I just got it in December. Plus this mods are a addiction I want to stop now while I have the chance lol.

It's a never ending addiction, trust me.

No MAF is worth 12hp......

lets see the dyno with A/F proof.....
back to back....

oh yeh, and you get charged 550 bucks EVERY time you change you tune alittle!!!!
F-body central here charges 400-500 onetime buy in... after that all you pay for is dyno time...

that being said, you dont need to tune for these bolt-ons...
instead of 550 on a tune , you can pick up a Electri WP for that and 7-9hp

Don't bother with a power programmer. HPTuners is the way to go, IMO.

Just curious how those the tuning on these cars work? I honestly have no idea what you guys do with the fuel and ignition maps, so can someone explain? Someone just plugs into your OBD2 and changes everything? is that how it works?

thanks

Pretty much. Go read/search the tuning/diagnostics forum.

Gotcha. On 4 bangers we use SMT6 or something similar to correct fuel and ignition maps. SO I guess it's all the same, just different brands.

there is ALOT of good info on hptuners(my choice as well) take your time, study alot and make small adjustments... you will learn quick and be able to tune yourself...

1st dyno run : mods were Lid/Filter, Borla open, stock MAF

Results: 332 RWHP 331 RWTQ

2nd dyno run 30 minutes later: mods were Lid/Filter, Borla open, and Granatelli MAF

Results: 344 RWHP Air/Fuel 17.5

I will scan these in as soon as I can get to a scanner which will be most likely tommorow (2 separate graphs). This was a few years ago, and I had no idea it leaned your car out to gain the horsepower. I wouldn't recommend one now that I know how it works, but yes I did indeed gain 12rwhp.

HOLYCHITBALLS!!!!!! 17.5 to 1 A/F????!!!!

please tell me thats a typo!

i will wait for you to correct that one (if there is a correction to be made)
but the very same 12 hp could have been made by leaning the car's a/f thru tuning....

but not to 17.5-1.... didn't you have detonation like crazy??? seems at that A/F your KM would be going nuts!

Is that true? Damn, now i know where to get all my tunig **** done. It in Baltimore right? I wonder if they'll tune out codes for free after the initial $400-500. Or maybe someone around me can do it.
