Default Am i on the right path?

I am starting to plan some mods for my car. Tell me if i am on the right path. I am wanting atleast 400hp at the wheels, tell me what you think about my mods and if they will get me there. hooker longtubes, some kinda true dual setup, 224/224 .563/.563 114 LSA from thunder racing, stage 3 ls6 heads, i already have a lid and all the free mods. Tell me if i am on the right track. What kind of mpg would i be lookin at, I drive pretty resonable until them mustangs need to be straightened out. Oh and i am lookin at a SPEC stage 3 Clutch, would there be a better clutch out there than this? Thanks for any help guys.

You should definitely be over 400rwhp with Heads AND Cam (with full bolton's). There are plenty of 400rwhp cam only cars, so you even if you don't get a radical cam, you will still be good. Make sure to get the LS6 intake (or better) as well.

It sounds like you are planning it out just fine. I've heard plenty of good things about the TR224. Are you going to get a catted Y-pipe with the hookers, or are you going off-road?

personally i'd opt for a set of milled 205's over a stg3 ls6 head with the TR224. the 205's offer the same if not better low and mid lift flow curves, not to mention the port velocity advantage. most stg3 ls6 heads are setup for big bore, big cube applications.

the 224 cam is a baby cam... tuning is a sinch,

the only thing i would sudgest is going with the comp xe-r 224/224 581/581 112 lsa...

with a great set of heads, and a open exhaust like you are planning, the higher lift and lower LSA will give you a little more hp up top...

i could not agree more, especially for a cam like this, the port velocity of the AFR 205 heads will squeeze every last drop of power out of this cam...

its the H/C set up i have in my ride right now....(since i am taking her off the street the cam is about to be changed, but for a daily driver it was awesome)

make sure if you go with these heads that you get cometic head gaskits and send tony momo @ afr a pm for advice on your set up...

Personally, I'd get a bigger cam and do a gear swap. Make 400 rwhp cam only and 430++ rwhp with the heads.

Hence the ++ after the 430.

I can't wait till I can afford to get some new heads myself. Then forged internals. Then nitrous. Then maybe I'll be satisfied.

The mods you listed are deffinately putting you in the right direction. If i were you i would go with the AFR 205's as JRP stated, and i would use the cam that Tony from AFR reccomends with those heads. The 224 cam you listed is a baby cam by today's standards, and the cam Tony at AFR reccomends isn't much (if any) bigger.
