Default Want Help On Spending Wisely

I apologize for such a newbie-ish question. I just can't seem to get the answer I desire from searching.

First off I have a 02 A4 SS (SLP 345hp Package) w/28k miles on it. I want to mod this car the right way, getting the most bang for buck. I know first and foremost I need to get a stall. (what RPM, etc, still searching) but after that I really don't know what to get. My budget consists of $3000. What do you guys recommend?

First thing get the stall, thats a must auto's. Then since you are looking for performance get the bolt ons - lid, ported tb, pullies, catback, headers etc... If you have not read this sticky yet it will help you out. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139142

Start with a lid (if you haven't already)
Then the stall, Headers, and exhaust.
Wouldn't hurt to upgrade some of the suspension components also (lca's, panhardbar, torque arm).
I am sure others will jump in here and help you out with the stall, I drive an M6 so I don't worry about a stall...lol.

Well the car already has a lid (blackwing) and I am planning on the stall. I just didn't know if I should pony up for a cam package, and maybe some heads. I'd like to get the car into 11's.

Worse comes to worse, I can always do spray I guess.

3000 bucks...

4000 2.5str stall=500-800
headers=300-500
cutout=30
MT drag radials=350
tq arm=300-350
undrive pulley= 210
LCA's=200
SFC's=150
qa1 front shocks=300
pull out about 300 lbs of useless weight=free

that ill get you 11's everyday and twice on sunday cost ya 2600-3000 give or take shipped,

start saving to BUILD your tranny and for a 12 bolt rear

or you could spend your money on a heads cam package , have a really great dyno number, but a car that wont grab any traction at the track and cant break 12.0

do the above and it wil reward you everytime you add power because it will put the power to the ground...

Just a quick question here if it's okay, is there any brand name you prefer?

yank, vig, or hughes... mine is a hughes...

hughes makes a killer 3500 stall for the 4l60 part number= 22-35el

and the 4000 stall is 57-1012

Add a tranny cooler ($55), extra pair of used wheels for the MT drag radials, O2 extensions ($40?), O2 sims or "basic tune" ($85+), shift kit ($100) and transmission temperate gauge (75) to that list. Plus any tools that you don't have and can't borrow yet need to do all of the installs yourself, as that budget does not allow for labor.

All of the extras/little things, tooling and possibly labor can add up in a hurry.

I would go for stall, headers, cat back and then cam. With the stall and headers you should be hitting low 12s so a cam would def. get you into the 11s. Also you should do some suspension work that will help alot.
