Default whats an ls1 worth

whats the going rate of an ls1, i`m looking for one to swap into my 55 chevy and so far haven`t come up with any in florida except for a junkyard that wants 4500.

all I need is the complete engine, no ecm or wiring harness.

It depends on the miles, but an LS1 + T56 should run you around $3500.

Here's one (A4 though) on e-bay for $2,500 + shipping.

I just need an engine, no ecm harness tranny anything.

just a long block with the front accessories and manifolds preferably, is 2500 fair going rate for one?

this whole project got started when I acquired an edelbrock carb intake kit for an ls1 last month in trade.

lol interesting way to begin a project ... aquire one of the most insignificant components, and get everything else based on that.

If you have time, I would just check eBay every so often, they seem to be on there a lot.

Good luck.

it was just one of those deals I couldnt pass up, I had a carb I only had about 300$ and a few hours invested into and he traded me some weld pro stars and the ls1 carb kit for it, knowing they go for a good 600-700 I picked it up figuring i`d just sell it off on ebay or a swap meet, but then one fateful night I got to working on the 55 and kept glancing over at the edelbrock box on the shelf, the rest is history

I got your pm vince but the price is a little too much for me to pay for a stock engine, no disrespect i`m sure its worth it.

and I wanna use the carb stuff so it`ll be a little different, that and its gonna be a gift to my old man eventually and he wouldn`t know what to do if an efi car broke down.
