first time getting timed
first time getting timed I'm gonna go take my car to get timed tonight, just wondering what you guys think i'll run. I have a borla exhaust and i cut out the plastic under the air filter, no other mods yet. I have an 02 z28 M6 and i've been to the drag strip before but not with the timing system. I am at a pretty high elevation so im not sure how that compares to sea level elevation. any guesses?

I would imagine your in the mid-high 13 sec range. here in san angelo stock f-bodys run anywhere from 13.6-14.0 we are at about a 2,000ft elevation with the normal DA being in the higher 3,xxx's. I know its not like the 5,000-6,000ft DA's you see but you'll get an idea.

I've never heard it referred to as "getting timed" before either. Most of the drag racers I know would say something like "I'm gonna go make a few passes" or something similar.
Down here people are really strict about what times you run. For example if You here of a 12 second FBody up here that's pretty damn fast considering 4000ft of elevation and DA's in the summer ranging from 6000 to 7000 because of 100 degree weather. psychologically speaking he probably said getting timed because he wants to know what other mods he will need. Down here actual race day where it all goes down is only heads up racing. day for times is usually dead especially in the winter
