My take on the hood is that it does very little to nothing for performance. But damn it looks good.

It has to be worth at twice as least as much horsepower as my SS grill and fender and rear SS emblems. Lets see, 2 X 0 = 0. But on a scale of 0 - 100, it rates 100 for appearance.

I got one obviously 'free' with the purchase of the car nearly five years ago brand new, but will be switching it out for the Ultra Z. Performance is negligable at best but it does look good; not as much as the Ultra and if the Ultra can actually do a little something for me then I win in both aspects. Performance can also be based on looks I believe if it gives you that warm fuzzy if you have it so I voted yes. But in the real world 1/10th of one horsepower is what really?

I already have the SS hood, I just made this POLL because people were raiding my other post arguing whether the hood did anything or not. So I made a thread they can all get their jollies.

true
Cold air is better then no air, maybe only worth a fraction of a HP if any, but it looks good while earning that fraction

The problem is with how the air is routed through the ducting under the hood it is heated up to a temp greater than the air being pulled from under the air box.

Think about it though....When your car is running your hood is hot to the touch, which means the ducts are also hot....and we all know that heat dissipates to anything colder.

Now the WS6 hood and BGRA is a different story....too bad there can't be a similar setup for the SS hood.
