I searched for a week and drove 454 miles one way to find it wasn't what I was looking for. then I drove the next day 85 miles one way and it was perfect for what I was looking for. I came home called the bank and a week later drove that 170 miles to get it.
454+454+85+85+170=1248 miles all together.

I went all the way to Germany for mine. Well, I am stationed there but I will be bringing it back to the states next summer. Does that count?

I drove 170 miles & 3 1/2 hours one way for my LS1. Found it on Auto Trader at a dealer lot. Couldn't find a reasonable priced 6 speed here to save my life. I put down 100 bucks over the phone before even driving it. I knew this was the one.

After searching in the autotrader, local chevy dealerships, and in the recycler I finally found mine about 65 miles away (about an hour drive in cali). Took one trip out to see it, test drove it, had a ASE certified mechanic friend look it over, and 2 weeks later showed up with a cashiers check in hand to pick it up.

I flew like 1300 or 1400 miles out to Houston. I bought it on ebay from a dealer. I was real picky on the options and color plus I wanted low miles. I knew this car would be a keeper for a long time so I would have driven anywhere to get the right one. Made a vacation out of it and would do it again.
There were NO 2002 ws-6's around to buy, the one's that were even within a few hundred miles were plain janer's and high miles plus they wanted an exorbent amount of money for thir plain junk.
I still saved money including paying for my plane ticket and my wifes and I got the exact car I wanted.

I flew to Memphis TN and drove back to Portland Maine. Somewhere between 1500-1600 miles, not sure exactly how far because the speedo is calibrated for 3.73's but the car has 4.10's. I hate putting te extra miles on the odometer!

I flew from Birmingham, Alabama to Philadelphia, PA for a 2002 TA that was too good to be true. Turned out it was. I wasn't sorry I made the trip because it was an adventure of sorts and I got the plane ticket last minute so it was pretty cheap. I flew out in the morning and back in the evening so no need for a hotel. The salesman assured me repeatedly that the car didn't have a scratch on it. I got there and it had been wrecked both front and rear, fixed and tapped again.

The car I ended up buying was in St. Louis, MO. I flew out of Bham early in the AM, connected in Memphis and was in St. Louis by 10:30AM. Took a cab (nearly cost me my life, stupid cabby) to the small dealer lot. I went over the entire car for about 45 minutes and only found a few minor blemishes. Then I drove it around with the salesman for about 2 hours. Back at the dealership, I had them put it up on the rack so I could check underneath and found out why they were asking 2k less than NADA value: they thought it had a rear main leak. I checked everything else out for another 45 minutes and everything was ok. I went inside, made the deal and was on the road by 2:30PM. I drove east to southern Illinois, down through Kentucky and Tennessee, turned south at Nashville and headed straight down 65 home to Bham. I rolled in about 11PM that night and had to get up at 5:45AM the next morning to go to work (in my old car). Total driving miles: 520. I came home after work, put the car up on ramps and the damn oil filter nearly spun off in my hands. I changed the oil and filter and it hasn't leaked drop since in 25k miles.

Graham, NC to Hartford, CT.

Flew up Sunday morning, left CT at 1pm, got back to NC around 11:30pm or midnight.

Very nice way to get aquainted with your new car(especially when you have 10 minutes of experience driving a Honda 5spd. and then you gotta drive a LS1 6spd. all the way down the Eastern seaboard...fun times.)

204 miles round trip
The car I was originally looking at buying (NBM WS6 MN6) was sold while the wife and I were on vacation (oddly to a gal that works at the same place I do).
The only othe 6 speed WS6 was in Enid OK, so when we got back, off we went to check it out, got there @ 6pm, by 8pm(dealer closed @7:30) the deal was done, and I drove it home with a big grin plastered on my face

I went 340 miles one way for my car. Haven't regretted it, even for a second.
