a grand to spend!
Hey guys, I can spend $1000 right now, what should I use it for? I'm thinking LS6 intake and a throttle body. Also should I get a ported tb or go with the BBK? BTW I just installed the Eradispeeds and Hawk pads and they are sweet, looking and working. Alittle noisy right now, i guess they're breaking in still. The best thing is no more rotor-warp lurching when stopping! I hated that! Thanks for any input.

pacesetter headers ( on sale I think at Texas Speed >>>) and a stall converter ( on sale at Fuddle >>>)..............IMO that would be the best bang for the buck (other than NOS) you'll be deep into the 12's......I just ordered these parts for my car but I dont have them installed yet. Good Luck.

Couldn't go wrong with new suspension parts either. All would be easier to install too. Headers would be a sweet choice if you do the install, and have a connection on getting a tune (assuming you delete some things). Otherwise a g' might not be enough.

I agree, with doing these mods, the only other way to drop over .5 off your et with a grand would be n2o

what are you planning on doing with the car? you should make a plan..and stick to that to avoid spending money that you don't need too. 1k= SFCs pacesetter headers with TSP TD rumbler exhaust.

I just want to run mid to low 12's for now and still be able to jump in it and drive to florida if I want. I never want to give up drivability so I guess a set of longtubes and the ls6 intake is the way to go. Only problem is I have major back problems right now and am not in any shape to install these parts, so a grand won't cut it. I guess I can buy the parts and then save for installation/ labor. It about crippled me to put on the rotors and pads last wknd. If anybody recommends a shop around VA Beach or Norfolk to install this please post up.

Do a search and you will find plenty of information. I agree with what My'98-Z said to do. Also, stay far far away from BBK. That TB is pretty worthless, IMO. Just get your stock TB ported and don't look back until you are making some serious power.

Looking at your mods, long tube headers are probably the best bet for a next mod. Get the bet you can afford. Kooks, QTP and DynaTech (which I have) are all very good. Good fit, stainless steel construction, etc. My LT's were worth .35sec and 2mph in the 1/4 mile. For you that would get you in the 12's.
After headers...look internal, specifically the cam. A good cam kit will cost under a grand for all (cam, springs, titanium retainers, and gaskets) Aside from headers, this was the single most noticable mod I've EVER done to my car. Still brings a smile to my face every time I start it up and hear the engine lope.
BTW, you'll get double the gain from a cam AFTER installing headers. Have a plan.....I saw it was mentioned before. Can't go wrong that way.
Good luck.

Do you have to remove the engine to install the cam? Also, should i get the headers with or without emissions stuff? If you go without, what do you do to remove the EGR/AIR crap? How does this effect the car? We don't have emissions testing here, but they might look for the cats. I'm ready to order headers, just need to make sure i get it right.
