Default Ordered a Lid, WS6 Lower Airbox, and Skip-shift

The modding contunues:

I ordered a SLP Lid, a WS6 Lower airbox, and a Jet skip-shift.

I still stand by my original plan to keep the car strictly bolt-on.

The car came with the WS6 hood, but with a stock lower airbox, so the WS6 lower should add a little, especially with the SLP lid.

The car already had Long tube headers and a catted y-pipe.

The last mod I might do is either a cut-out or a catback, but the car sounds so nice with the Flowmaster a cutout seems like the way to go, cheap too.

I'd like to have everything done within the next month or two so I can get some dyno #s in the cool weather.

I am hoping to see a 325rwhp SAE dyno even thru the Flowmaster.

More importantly, I'd like to see 12.9s on radials (grannyshifting) without breaking the stock rear.

Hopefully my Mustang buddies will set up another ATCO track rental this fall or in the spring.

On a M6 car you should dyno pretty good numbers with those mods. My 98 dynoed 337hp with just a lid and LT headers.

mods r always fun!, you may look into the BG ram air system to take full advantage of that ws6 hood and lower airbox.
imho.

good luck on the dyno!

Where did you ordered these mods? On the SLP Homepage?
But nice too here, that your car will be a only bolt-on, is it your daily driver?

felton316 -

Nice #s.

I figure if I keep my expectations low I can't be disappointed. Dynos have always given me lower #s than people said my cars should get, but my track times have always been better than the higher dyno cars when we ran the same day???

I hope to dyno the Viper the same day, looking for 400-420rwhp and 430-450rwtq SAE, but even if it doesn't make it, the 11.6 stands.

black00ta -

A BG ram air would be an OK mod, but later on.

The next mod is most likely a cutout, I need an exhaust that will be fairly quiet for when my wfe drives it, the Flowmaster is acceptable to her, the I just can't forget to close the cutout.

rwhp.j -

I ordered the SLP Lid and Skip shift from Summit.

I ordered the WS6 lower airbox from GMpartsdirect.

The TA is my daily driver, but I take the Viper sometimes.

When I had my Stroked and Blown 92 Stang convertible, my Viper was my daily driver, the Stang was always in the shop. The Viper was a 11.6@120.56 reliable daily driver and the Stang was a 11.2@124.56 nightmare.

It is nice to have two pretty fast daily drivers besides the wife's SUV.

***I'll have to do a search to see what F-bodies with my mods are running**

So far (I still have not installed the lid and lower), my old 2001 Vette Vert 6 speed with a Donaldson Blackwing CAI still felt faster???

It could just be the heaviness of the TA making it feel that way though.

Right now I don't think the TA feels like a mid 12 car, feels more like low 13s, I hope I am wrong and nail a 12.9 or better. The car just does not feel like it will mph very high on the top end, 110 or better would make me VERY happy.

I could just be used to the Viper also? It is a torquey SOB.

Wow, i like the Stang-Fox-Bodys very much. Was it a 347 Strocker and a Vortec blower? Or Paxton ? A buddy has a 93 lx Stang in very good condition, he has nothing done with her, but i love the sound of the 5.0 It's not his daily driver. I just wanted to know where do you ordered, because you don't get parts in Germany!
I think i got a video of your Viper on my PC, is that possible ? Looks awesome

But now on your Trans Am and good modding.

rwhp.j -

It was a 347 with a Vortech S-trim with a Lentech auto trans, made 470rwhp/490rwtq STD

It ran 11.2 on drag radials with a soft 1.8 60' launch, it had cut a 1.6 60' earlier, but spun on the 1-2 and blew the run.

It was a true 10 second radial car, but blew a headgasket after the 2nd run before I could prove it.

As for videos, there are vids of both cars on my website.

The Trans Am is an awesome car, with the Flowmaster it almost has (dare I say it) that classic 5.0 sound.

Sounds pretty fine, one more good reason for me to get an LS1. You bought your Trans Am at Ebay,
is it better to check the VIN? Because i don't have the possibility to check it personally.
Have to get one of those, where did you bought your other cars, at a dealer or Ebay?
Thanks

I bought my Viper at a dealer.

I bought the TA on ebay, it was listed as a WS6, but it was not a REAL WS6, something a VIN won't tell you.

No problem, for $12,700 it was clean and I am happy, but I was pissed at first.

Be careful, I would never buy another car sight unseen,
