Default More questions on pricing a T/A...

Well I've found 4 possible T/A's for sale..help me out. The three choices are (1) 2000 TA Ram Air with 40k miles, 6spd, t-tops, leather etc for $16,5 (2) 2001 TA Ram Air with 52k miles 6spd, t-tops, leather etc for $18,3 (3) 2002 TA No Ram Air with 45k miles, 6spd, t-tops, leather etc for $18,5 or (4) 2000 TA Ram Air with 64k miles, 6spd, t-tops, leather, etc for $15,8. What would you go with? I figure I can get number 1 down to around 15grand (?) The second one to maybe around $16,5 or 17 and the 3rd one to somewhere near 17 grand and the 4th to 14grand or so. What do you think/opinions? Thanks for the help.

I'd go with door #1 least amount of miles at the cheapest price.

seconded, as long as it is all in good shape, check it over thuroughly, the rear end, power windows, and look for mods of any form, first and formost

Yeah I was kinda leaning towards number one as long as its in good shape. And because I'll have more money to mod. Cmon, anyone else?? This could be my first LS1 and almost a year of patiently waiting (good song btw) finally paid off!!

Number one SOUNDS like the best deal, but....

Make sure you see & drive these cars in person.

I bought my 99 WS6 M6 off of ebay with 44K miles for $13,200 which is a great deal, ONLY TO FIND OUT IT IS NOT A REAL WS6.

I got the guy to refund me $500 and for $12,700 I have a beautiful red Ram Air TA that looks EXACTLY like a WS6 except for the rear badge, but make sure you get what you pay for. This WS6 BS is very common.

Also, my car came stock save for Long tube headers and a catted y-pipe.

Only things it needed when I got it were:

Plugs and wires - (had one broken wire & one mismatched wire - original plugs
Hurst billet shifter - Original shifter was broken and rotating in gear
WS6 Lower airbox (It came with a stock lower) - might as well take advantage of the WS6 hood.

Don't get me wrong, it drove fine when I got it, I reattached the broken wire and the shifter worked OK, but just annoyed me. But the truth is, I would not have bought this car if I had went to look at it, or if I still wanted it I would have paid no more than $12000.

So, the moral is, I would pay a little more to buy a car locally that you can see and drive. It will most likely save you $$$ and aggravation in the long run.

Be patient, the right car will come along.

I personally like the 99-2000 WS6s, the Polished rims on these years are what makes them stand out IMO.

***Remember, if the WS6 code is not one of the codes on the RPO sticker inside of the drivers door, it is not a REAL WS6 and is worth much LESS***

Good luck and I hope this helps,

Howard
