Default New owner 1998 TA

Traded in my 2003 Mach 1 Mustang for this, had to get payments down to a more reasonable level. I'm really enjoying this car so far. It is 8 years old so it has a few quirks, but it's in really good shape. 79k miles, 6 speed, 1 owner that left it stock.

Love the Blue-Green Chameleon TA's, congrats on your purchase. Do you have any plans to mod it yet or are you going to do as the last owner did and leave it stock?

Looks like the previous owner took good care of it.

I'm not too used to it yet, but I think I can safely say the TA is stronger torque wise through the entire power band. What I like about this car is I can be around 3k rpm and punch it and the thing leans back and goes... I never could say that about the Mach 1 due to it's weak lower rpm torque. Horsepower wise I think it would be a slight (20 hp?) favor to the TA, but the TA does feel heavier.

Handling is not a competition at all, the TA is clearly way better in corners and even has good lean back in straight line acceleration. Compared to the Mach1 the TA is driving on train rails.

I don't plan to mod it much right now. My faith in the clutch is not very great. It acts like it has a warped flywheel. It doesn't slip but it has some hop in it when I'm starting off from a dead stop. It's not really bad but it is noticable. I may get the basics like lid and air filter/catback. It's very very quiet as it is now.. which isn't all bad, just not very muscle car like.

nice car
The primary thing here was getting my payment down from $500 a month... if I'm going to get someting cheaper I'd rather get a 98 TA than something like a 2001 V6 or 4 banger. I got the TA for $10k and lost a little on trade in which makes my payment way less.
