I'm going to have about 12k at the end of next summer, and I can't decide which car to get. I'm in college right now... well here is the 3 options
98-02 Trans AM
1st/2nd Gen Mustang
1st Gen Camaro
2nd Gen Nova
if I get an old car I'd keep my v6 Mustang, and have 2 cars... eventually I want to put a big block in the older cars.
Or should I just get rid of the v6 and get an LS1?
Can't decide, help me out with some advice.
Note: I don't pay rent, and have allowance from parents
I also will have a job, and will bring in about... 600 a month...
The only thing keeping me from the old car is having 2 cars in college, help me out.

I have to go with the obvious answer, get the LS1.

Whatever decision you make, make it for the right reasons. I was in the same boat as you, living with the parents, pulling in decent money, enough to buy an LS1 car. So I did.
One year later, instead of saving my money for the real world, I blew it on my car.
Now, I'm looking to sell my car for something that is cheaper on gas and insurance, so I can save to buy a house. I realized that living paycheck to paycheck and blowing money on my car wasn't as enjoyable as being financially sound enough to buy what I want whenever I want it.
And as a Realtor, I would advise anyone, young or old, who does not own their own house to stop spending money on their car and save for a house. One of the best investments that a person can make in life.

Your in college... save your money and stick with your V6 mustang, if you save save save by the time you get out, not only will fbody prices have gone down, but you'll be able to afford both ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
and Luke is right, if you don't own a house save for one, we ( my wife and I ) are going to be paying off our CC and trying to get into a house next summer... we have lived in our apt for two years now, at 595 a month that's $14,280 that we have spent on rent, which could have went towards equity instead of someones pockets

I had the same problem, When I was 16 I drove a mint 68 deville with 51k original miles, then got ran over by a semi, Then I got a 68' Impala convt.(still have) Then going into senior year, I was looking for a 69' hemi charger (damn there expensive), So I found a 72 GTO for 15k mint as hell, but then I did something stupied and bought a new 2001 camaro rs (6cyl), A few months later my buddy bought a 02 ws6 and took me for a ride in it. 6mon after i bought the camaro, I traded it in and bought a 02 ws6 (lost alot on the camaro) But now I am more than happy with my choice. hopeful that helps u some what
