SLP lid
I have had 2 SLP lids, first on my 02 NBM SS that was T-boned and totalled. No problems with the first lid. The second lid was purchased on my Black 02 SS which has some clearance issues. It is hitting the underside of my hood and does not fit correctly. Currently looking for another lid that will have better clearance issues. Looking for carbon fiber whisper lid or clear MTI. Any suggestions?

Click on " Induction "....A bit on the pricey side....But, it is by far the best quality and fit !

You should be good to go with any of the lids that the sponsors sell.

Your going to pay a premium for a Blackwing though.

Just throwing my two cents in here, but I have the Volant, quality is ok, and fitment is good. But I love how it does actually seal around the inside of the hood, and pulls most air from the outside. I think its a good product, especially when you remove the inner baffles on the WS6 hood. I really like it.

Go to www.caplugs.com and search for part number BPF-1 1/8-6
(or BPF series plugs)
Fit perfectly and is flush:

You can request a free sample on thier website.
The hole in my SLP lid is 1.125" dia and the material is .120 thk. I'm not 100% sure if this same plug will work on all lids but I would assume they all have the same size hole for the breather tube. This one is black, not sure if there's a clear one.
I realize you're getting a new lid because your current one is broke but just figured I would mention this in case anyone else was looking to eliminate/plug thier breather.

I've had a G2, and a TSP. Didn't feel a difference when i switched to the TSP. But, looking at the TSP you can see how/why it would flow better than most the other lids. There are no "corners" to cause air to have to be abrubtly redirected. W/ the TSP everything flows smoothly to the MAF.

The "resonator" you're talking of is part of the baffles/silencer that allows air to fill in those areas and quiet the intake effect of it.
However, if you look at the design of the stock airbox, you'll notice that the air has to enter through an oval-shaped hole to head towards the engine. It was found that the baffles didn't do as much as previously thought to rob horsepower, but rather that it was mainly the shape of the hole through which it entered. So the biggest advantage of the lid over the stock airbox is that the hole is very big and circular, which allows air to enter smoothly. Plus getting rid of the baffles helps a bit as well.
If you ask anyone who knows anything about LS1s, a lid should most definitely be your first (or one of your first) mods to the car.
