I think my car blue books at 8k to 11 k and I only owe
4k making this the first car I ever owned in my life that
I did not go into the red. I wish I coul convince my
wife to let me buy speed parts against my equity.
In my case yes the car is appreciating and it is a good feeling.

I wouldn't exactly call a LS1 a "gas guzzler" personally. They actually get pretty good mileage compared to other cars in their horsepower range. 27+ mpg on the highway out of a 300+ hp car is damn amazing. Even the new Z06 gets good enough mileage that it doesn't get a gas guzzler tax.
I think the SUVs are the ones that are more likely to go the way of the dodo because of gas prices.
