Default LS1s for 4-5k?

A couple people mentioned on another thread that high mileage LS1s are going for that cheap now. I want to call bullshit but it'd be great if somebody could prove me wrong. I looked on ebay and there's a lot of v6s that aren't that cheap.

I don't see why there couldn't be some Z28's selling for 4-5k, give or take a few hundred. It would probably have 130k+ miles. The same car would probably sell for $1500-$2000 more if it was very well cared for. This is all hypothetical of course.

i don't see why not, with high mileage, low options.

They aren't that rare or new anymore.

I think alot depends on the area, I know when I was LS1 shopping I was lucky to find anything under 10 grand, I'm sure there are high mileage deals to be had. I got my car for 6200 w/ 75k on the clock and a NAM title

I tell you what, I haven't been able to find any without a dead LS1, T56, or body damage.

The one my buddies boss has, is a 6 speed.

I called him Vendetta. He isn't sure if he wants to sell it yet. It has 111k/112k on it.

Still working on it.

If i sold mine it'd be for about 6500, purely because of milage, alot more if it wasnt as high as it is, and alot less if i didnt have so much in it, 135k, mods in sig, and still going strong, so im sure people will sell them for less

Got my 99 SS in August for $7500. Had 103k on it, cloth int, 6 speed, chrome Z06s, B&B exhaust and a K&N. Needed some work but I still feel I got a steal and a half on it. You just gotta know where to look as far as the deals go. I got mine from a friend @ work who wanted a new Pathfinder (ended up gettin an 03 Cobra instead...the bastard).

ebay usually doesn't give you the best deals. I use autotrader mostly. cars.com alittle, not nearly as useful for me.

yeah, area. East Coast...Wash DC area they still command some higher value. Northern Cali...American V8's seems to be much cheaper. 5.0 Mustangs are almost given away here especially with the gas prices.

I'm sure you could find some high-mileage ones for that price, or wrecked if you are any good at repairing bodywork. When I got run over by a semi truck, insurance co wanted $5,000 to buy back my '01 Z. If I had more time/space to devote to it I may have bought it back.
