692 MPH for about 1 1/2 hours...
This was in one of the planes I fly though. At the top of the screen you can see where it says "GS 602"...that's Ground Speed 602 Knots which equals 692 MPH. We did Houston to Pittsburgh in under two hours that day. I've seen faster ground speeds but only for short amounts of time.
Now as far as going fast on the ground, my ***** aren't as big as some of you guys. I've driven Pittsburgh to Cleveland a few times at a constant 85 MPH with some runs to 120 MPH for only a minute or two. But, after I got a $430 ticket one day I decided to kick it down a notch.

I dads 99 frc we went from IL to AZ in one day (left at like 10pm from IL )with time to spare. I know at times we were up to like 140 ish and never dropped below 90 besides to stop for gas and grub... Call it irresponsible, I call it fun.

I did between 120-140 sustained for about two hours in a rental car. To be fair it was 3am-5am and the roads between 29 palms base and las vegas, there are roads straight for 100+ miles with no buildings or anything, just in the middle of the desert. I got pulled over on I-95 and got a ticket for 107 in a 65 ($640 fine) afterwards. I realize this may sound unbelievable to some of you, LOL

I sustained 125-165mph in my old 1987 IROC for about 10 minutes on a local highway (it's called mopac) racing a another friend in his 1997 Z-28. It was a blast! I wish I could max out my current ride like that but the city has gotten too large at this point to do that again! LOL

i drove from indianapolis IN. to port huron michigan, speedo never dropped below 95 mph. sometimes bouncin off the the speed limiter in a 2001 blazer. no radar detector, we left at 11:30 p.m. from indy, and drove straight through, stopping once for gas. never saw one cop. true story. the trip takes about 6hrs. going the speed limit, not sure how long it took us, but i drank like 4 red bull. haha.

If the picture comes through, most of the course looks like this. Then there's The Narrows!!

wow, sorry but I don't think I will ever have the ***** to drive that fast for as long as some of you have...Not worth my insuracne being doubled, loosing my license, hitting a deer at those speeds and totaling my car or even getting myself killed...a quick run to 140mph is good for me...in fact I have only taken my T/A up to 125 mph since I bought it back in august...say what you want about me but the adrenaline from going WOT from 0-130 mph is good enough to satisfy me...if i need something more than that I find a hot chick and enjoy something called Sex..
