Keep the GN!!!

If you want to have a manual transmission to make it more fun why don't you find some way to throw one into the GN?

GN's are badass, and I would take one anyday over my trans am.

Default gn

well im leaning towards keeping the GN now. im in the process of doin some more go fast things to it right now. bigger injectors, chip, lt1, MAF, MAF translator plus, RJC front mount intercooler. so im almost done with it now. But i think im gonna keep it and try to get my LS1 one a bit later, maybe when the prices go down some more.

manual trannys aren't the best behind GN motors, due to gearing... and they don't like to rev much past 5500 or so. Another is just getting them to hold up behind the torque. Then there is the boost drop off on the shifts and not being able to build boost at the line with a manaul. If you can deal with that and just want a fun highway racer or something then go for it.

Default Trans Am

I had a Regal back in 1986 and everyone told me to get the GN becasue of how fast they are. I have to admit that I wish I had a GN then.

But, FWIW, I would still go with the Trans Am. For me the Firebird has always been the car that I wanted so it is a no brainer.

For you I say "go for what you feel strongest towards".

IMO it sounds like you want the TA more. If so, get it and do not listen to us here.

Default keep the GN

Keep the GN. I know that is what most people here are voting for. Trust me I have both and when I go out I the 'Hawk I get "nice car you should get a ram-air hood", but when I go out in the GN I get "wow nice monty" but more often than not I get " is that as fast as they say." So I sugest you Keep the GN and buy a cheap F-Body. If you do sell the GN you will never get it back, or you may never get the money you put into it. Do what you will just make sure you are happy in the end.

You have a mint, fast GN in your possesion. Only one thing you can do:

DON'T BE A FOOL! KEEP THE GN!

Now, don't get me wrong, I love F-bodies at least as much as anyone else in this world, but if I already had a mint GN I wouldn't sell it to get an F-body. I'd keep the GN, and wait till I could afford to add an F-body to the collection.

Many times in my life I've come across GNs that I would love to own, problem is, I never run across them at the right times. When I'm in the market for a project/toy, I'm never able to find a GN that's good enough.

Oh, and in case I didn't make myself clear before;

DON'T BE A FOOL! KEEP THE GN!

Keep the GN. Like you said, wait a year or two, by an ls1, and you'll have the best of both worlds.

I would keep the GN They will be impossible to find for a decent price in a few years and you wont be able to get one back but in a few years the ta will be hitting its low point in selling value and you will be able to get one dirt cheap.

If your not in any financial trouble, keep the GN. An affordable and good condition f-body should present itself sooner or later.

I don't think I would be able to part with a GN. So sick and very rare. But if you are gonna do it, an LS1 is the right car to do it for.
