Default hhmmm

only prob i have ever had with a vette was the ZO6. track, street made no difference. now what may have made the difference is most vette owners are over 50 and their reflexes may not be what they used to be and yes it is a stripper z so there is help there too... now on a roadcourse type race, the vette should kick our asses, 4th gen fbody, stock, dont hold worth a ****.but either way the price difference is WAY different, thats where the amazment is..one last thing... the vette looks cool as hell to and the Zo6 is an awsome car, period...

Thanks for the corrections Patman...I think I ment to say the close to 70% of the c5's you see on the road are automatics...

And with the Fbodys I was trying to point out that the 2.73 was not available in the 01 and up f bodies ( I beleave) only the 3.23 a4 was available starting in 01 for the a4 f bodies.

Just trying to make a point that if a 02 f body a4 races an 04 a4 C5...

The C5 could very well have 2.73 gears vrs the Fbody having 3.23 gears..

This is a .50 gear advantage for the fbody....

Kinda like comparing a 3.42 mn6 fbody to a 3.92 mn6 C5...

But even with the differance in gearing the 2.73 C5 still pulls the same times as the 3.23 F body....

In my own personal experience at my drag strip... My 2.73 C5 pulled a 13.5 bone stock....Another 2.73 geared bone stock camaro pulled a best of 13.8..While another bone stock Firebird with the 2.73 gears pulled a best of 13.7....

So it's defiently a drivers race.

Once again thanks for the corrections

Sorry to have to correct you once again, but you could indeed get an 01 or 02 automatic f-body with 2.73 gears. The automatic SS/WS6 cars were only 3.23 geared though.

will patman is right there is camaro ss with 273 or you could get 323 gears . but really the camaro ss are under rated and the same with the ws6 the f-bodies are under rated i beat a 2000 c5 vett with my camaro ss and 03 vett m6 . and another 2000 vett and i was stock when i beat the frist 2000 vett but the other times i was kind of moded and i have a4 323 gears
