I have hardtop, but would have liked to have gotten t-tops. Other than the lack of t-tops, the car was exactly what I was looking for, at a price I liked.

However, I'm not sure I could keep them off in the summer, the leather might just disitegrate, and it's hot as hell.

yeah som is gonna be a hard one to find...id say ebay or maybe craigs list....and the other two sites of course... you will find what your looking for at a good price if you search till you find "the one" took me 3 months and all i wanted was 98(no black box) black/black ta leather and ttop... so som is gonna take a while but im sure you will find it for a better price...Seen a few in the for sale section on here in the last couple months...

Both have their trade offs. I appreciate the rigidity of the hardtop on my car but most of all there is a lot less wind noise, I don't have to worry about leaks or anything like my last F-body. But then again on warm days I kinda wish I had them.

If its SOM, sorry didnt re read so I don't remember if you said the color, then I'd opt for the hard top 01, thats a pretty rare car/color and SOM cars usually sell for more so its gonna be tough. This is going to sound insane, but many people have done T-top conversions from a hard top, you could buy the 01 and pay a respectable company to convert it to T-top or even a Targa top and still come out on top by at least 5k.

My SS is a hard top and when I get to go to Thunder Valley Raceway I will not have to rent a helmet. I do not know if all strips are the same, but my cousin has t-tops and they require him to rent a helmet that who knows what heads have been in it.

as far as i know 13.99 quicker is nhra/ihra standard for helemets and after alot of litigation last off season a t-top car is considered a full roof unlike the convertebles. so there shouldnt be a difference unless its track specific and there not using ihra/nhra rules

Just keep in mind with a T-Top car, be carefull about long trips with them off. You'll fry like an egg on a hot summer day with lots of sun. Leave em on or put lots of sunscreen on.

Correct. 98's are the only year LS1 (F-body for sure, unsure on Vette) that did not have a black box.

same as my story...

I know some people have done some write-ups. I good body shop would be able to do it, and as far as price I have absolutely no idea. Like no clue, but if it was more than 2k I'd forget about it.

i've had 3 t-top camaro's but this HardTop SS i woulnd't trade for any of them!!! love the difference between driving a hard top compared to a t-top and you don't have to worry about leaking like those damn t-tops!!!! yes they do look good and it's great you can take them off but it takes to ****** long to take them off store them and put them back on . . . plus when you autoX you have to take them out and worry about them being scracthed or broken, too much hassle IMO. GET THE HARD TOP!!!! you wont be dissapointed

If you ever plan to mod and dragrace the car...t-tops suck ***. After my first season of racing, damn things never sealed right with the window ever again. Doesn't even matter how I adjust the windows or replace the seals, nothing works. I can't even remember the last time I even took them off, it had to be at least 2 years ago.

IF GM builds another TA and it only comes with t-tops, I'll be getting a camaro.

I don't know what you guys are doing where your T-tops leak so badly. Mine only leak when I go through a very powerfull touchless automatic car wash. They don't leak when it rains, or storms, so it's not a problem.

They don't take very long to take off either. One minute easily gets them off and stowed away, or the other way around.
