Default How much is too much?

Like my thread states, how much is too much? Im talking about prices for an LS1 Trans Am. I have seen 01/02 t/a's with 30-50k miles for $14-15k. Is that to much money? You guys have ls1's so whats your thoughts. Even if it is an 02 it is still 4 years old already. Are these cars worth the money? Im just so damn confused......and frustrated!

It's an interesting car in the market. The LS1 Firebird isn't following the normal car market. These cars have been known for selling more at wholesale auction than is normal for retail prices. These cars are still expensive. Just because a car is 4 or 20 years old doesn't mean it isn't better than a new car made one month ago. And there's not going to be a new Trans- Am in showrooms taking the shine off the earlier models. The Trans Am is a modern classic.

If you look at Kelly Blue Book they're getting dirt cheap, but expain that to yourself when none of the prices in the real world Auto Trader matches Kelly.

I was offered 4 months ago $27,000 for my 46k mile Firehawk. Of course mine isn't stock but it illistrates how the prices are still up there. Screw his money my 'Hawk will never be for sale anyway... priceless.

Too much money is $30k for a ten year old Supra.

$14k? Not bad at all.

One nice thing about a high resale value, when you SELL the car, you don't lose much $$.

The downside? A large up front investment.

well you might have been looking at WS6s, You can find lower priced ones too, but for those kinds of miles, its pretty good.

No they're not. They are only worth what the buyer is willing to pay.

Last year i bought a 02 SS. It had 45k on the clock, all options available and in great condition. I paid 19k for it. But trying to find an SS in my area was not easy.

Anything under 50,000 miles and under $11,000 here in miami was a pretty good deal, when I was looking. I got lucky and found a couple steals. Mine has 50,000 and got it for $9,000, listed at 10.

I bought mine in Feb. and it is an 02 SS BLK Anniv. w/silver stripes, M6, 53k mi. and I paid $18k. The kbb was $21k. Ones I looked at around Dallas had more miles and were more expensive.

I've been looking for 2 years now and I may be picky, sure, but I'm at the point where I'm willing to spend 20 grand or so. Right now when I search autotrader it'll bring up 00's and 01's with like 60k+ miles for around 19grand. That seems crazy to me. But 20 grand for an 01/02 with 20 or 30k miles, that seems reasonable all things considered.

Drive to chicago and you can probably sell it for 16-18 easily enough. Prices are VERY VERY dependant on hat part of the country your in with these cars. BIg cities tend to drive the prices of these cars up up up. Ive driven 2-3 states away for both F-Bodies ive bought in the last few years. One in midletown ohio, the other in idaho springs colorado. Im from chicago. Saved a few grand even after paying for gas both times.

Holy ****...where u located...when I was looking last fall a 00-02 WS6 with that amount of miles around here were going for $16,000 or more...so to me that is an insane price!

All I am going to say for your sake is why ask so little you mise well ask $13k at least...I mean when you go to look at a car you always try to get the price down so at least start higher so that you end up with more in your pocket...now those who might be interested in buying your car would hate me for telling you that lol.

You're practically giving that car away. Unless something is wrong with it.

Some people VALUE their car, not overvalue.

I love my car so friggin' much that I refused a $27,000 offer on it a couple months ago.

I don't overvalue... I value it. My Firehawk#608.
