VIN decypher please, 2001 Camaro, 5.7 I can't seem to find it in search. I need to know which # or letter in the 2001, 5.7, Camaro VIN, denotes whether it came stock with a T56 or a 4L60E.

actually, there is no digit in the vin that shows what trans. the only digit close to that is the 8th, it shows what engine. for a trans you would need to take a look at the RPO codes
