$3k might not be enough for all that go stuff even if you do all the work yourself. You'll still need a $500 tune, too. Keep in mind that if you go with power, you're going to want a stronger clutch with a manual or a converter for an auto (and some money on the side if either breaks.) The 10-bolt's always a question mark, too.

I say go, but change it up a bit to lid, headers, catback, and cam. Then it'll move out well, and you can go from there with whatever else you want.

i agree. do the basic mods so you dont break stuff, and get some good power. THEN, make it look good, and build power from there. you'll break stuff once you get into the bigger mods.

I voted for "Go."

Take it from someone who's modded his car 4 different times.

Im in a really good position to modify the car cause when I get back Ill fork out the 1400 for the 6month insurance so Im covered. Cause in 6months when I come back Ill be leaving for another 6 month deployment. Ill store the car and bank another $10k and finish the mods in 07. Im getting about $10k on this deployment and Im taking a loan out of 14k for the car and the rest to support my power trip.

Performance wise I was going to get subframes first, tranny cooler, LCA, Panhard,373 gears and the free mods.

Then second run will be underdrive pulleys and full bolts ons includeing LT headers and Y.

When I come back in 2007 Heads, cam,Transmisson, stall converter, no2,and tune.

My goal is streetable 11s maybe tap into 10s on juice. Id be investing like 15k in parts alone.

I just couldn't decide whether to mod my 02 NHRA into a beast, so I just bought another one.

Now I have the show (02 NHRA) and the go (98 TA race car)

I have a few questions for you guys and I know you have good inputs.

If I put on the SFC,LCA,panhard, and sway bars will it improve wheel spin in the rainy weather of Everett. I know if I mash on it will be spinnin like crazy but my other cars with 373 gears and converter spun like crazy no suspension work.

How rwhp/rwtq does full bolt ons,3200 stall, et streets, what ¼ does it produce? I’m talking everything but cam and heads. Make your best est.

I know the 01-02 came with a ls6 intake but did it come with a ls6 oil pump? I want to change it if it didn’t cause I hear bad things about flow issues. Inputs?

Nothing really improves wheel spin in rainy weather if you mash it. You can have a 500RWHP car on street radials and handle just fine in the rain if your not stupid with it. But on DR's or ET streets in the rain, you wont want to go faster than 50.

350-360ish RWHP/RWTQ locked, the record is 380RWHP (M6 cars) but that is with EVERYTHING, lightweight flywheel, driveshaft, you name it. Stall and bolt ons? Low 12's I'd say.

Yes they did. The pre 01 cars had an LS1 pump with a spring that was kind of hit and miss, although it was more hit than miss, but sometimes it gave out, lose pressure, and thats where you hear most of the spun bearing stories
Thats all I got

I was one of the very few who voted "show." I love turning heads when I drive, but then again I also drive a car with a hell of a lot of go already. FWIW I don't plan on putting "go" mods until waaaayyyy down the road.

I vote show THEN go, or 50/50 at the same time. Whats a fast car that doesnt look killer?! well, then it might be a modded 5.0 lol.

No offense at all Ell Ess Won, but your car, to the casual onlooker would definatly look like more go than show, I doubt they'd noticed the headlights and it being lowered, I bet all they'd see is a grill and some stickers, but then you have gears, LT's, lid, FRA, shift kit etc. I think your car has more go than show. Which is a good thing! Mine does too.
