The upgrade potential is theoretically greater for the LS2 motor vs. the LS6, since the LS2 has a larger bore and therefore greater displacement. After bolt-ons, an LS2 should be MUCH better than an LS6.

that GTO is crap. my buddys 06 put down 346 at the wheels bone stock with only about 1200 miles on the odo.

the LS6 is obviously a 346, and the LS2 is a 364 *if* I'm not mistaken, but it's definitely close to that, and 18 cubes or .3 liters isn't gonna make a large difference in power, but yeah, the LS2 would be my engine of choice, theres no replacement for displacement.

The 3.898 bore vs the 4.000 adds a lot of torque. They are the essentially the same engine with different bores

maybe your buddy has a manual and this guy has an automatic? don't be so critical, you don't know the differences in cars.

my friends 05 GTO put down 38xHP to the wheels with headers intake and aftermarket mufflers and a tune. m6 stock was i think 35xhp im not sure the exact numbers ill ask him tomorrow and post. but his car he put the stock manifolds and air intake back on to buy a STS kit and the car ran a 12.9@112.8 with just aftermarket mufflers on it. 2.0 60ft powershifting.

the thing id want to know is if the ls2 intake is actually better than the ls6 or not? i always hear about the ls6 intake. but if its worth buying an ls2 intake then i probably would.

I bought my car and it had the hypertech tuner in it. I took the hypertech tune out and it ran better. I got better gas mileage and even my friends thought the car felt faster. It did run smoother.

So yeah hypertech at least doesn't do anything. Thats why I sold it for $50 bucks. It came with my car. I didn't buy it and I wouldn't reccomend anyone else to buy it.
