insurance cheaper on vette vs WS6

Default insurance cheaper on vette vs WS6

Well today i went for a test drive a 98 c5 vette and a 01 WS6 well the vette is about 5 grand more but i love the car then i called my insurance company for a quote to finish my decision well the vette is 270 a month and a WS6 is 360 what the hell I'm 21 but why is the vette cheaper both are hardtop

Typically older people buy vettes, and people are statistically more careful with vettes. That's what makes the insurance cheaper.

Insurance on my Z28- $220
Insurance on a vette- $210

Im about 20 years old. go figure.

awesome i was just trying to figure out if it was a error made me kinda nervous i think i will end up buying the vette

Nope higher insurance claim rate on the WS6, at least that is what I have been told many many many many many many many many times....

yep, if you can afford the payments on it, why the hell not? Thats what im trying to make the switch to...

Its also cuz the TA is considered a sports car. The Vette is considered a touring car. The insurance conpanies hate that they can't change the Vette to sports car status. Appearently, they can only change it if the Vette were to stopped being made.

So i've heard.

my mom works for state farm..she says that there just arent enough claims on vettes and stuff like that to warrant a need for high premiums. Not many kids have vettes so you see the situation...oddly enough i check the same thing

my 02 z28 is 180 a month
i checked a 01 speedway white z06 and it was 174

'99 Trans Am, age 16-19, full-coverage, no accidents/tickets: $430/month

'02 Z06, age 22-?? , full-coverage, no accidents/tickets: $140/month

yeah, also vettes are stolen less often. when i was shopping for either vette or camaro, the vette insurance was about 100 bucks cheaper for the year.

oh wow so really in long run cheaper for a vette?

I might have to trade the Z in few extra bucks i'd save would really be nice and I guess I could settle for a vette

The Fbody is for a YOung KID..

The Vette is for that "KID" that Used to Be young. But Now is MATURE..

My 02 Z28 is $922 for 6 months
I priced an 01 Vette at $827 for 6 months.

USAA and i am married and just turned 21 today . I know when i was 19 and single, an LS1 F-body was like 400 to 500 a month....thats why i just now got one

DAMN I 21 WITH ONLY ONE TICKET AND ITS STILL 270 i'm going to get the vette i think just going to save alittle bit more about a month so i can drop the payment alittle more

I'm with state farm and insurance on my 02 WS6 is only $800 for the whole year.....i had it put on as a pleasure car (i cant go over 7500 miles a year on it) and i have the coverage suspended during the winter time....hell of a deal i thought for only being 24.

if you found a hardtop ws6 then thats probably really rare... you might want to take that consideration if it matters much.. although a frc is too..
