If he's talking flywheel HP you might be closer, but most LS1 guys speak in RWHP terms.

Even flywheel horsepower wouldn't be more than 300 on a stock 98 Z. RWHP would be closer to 260-270....stock of course. What you do from there is why we buy these cars.

ya, and my ford probe made 500hp at 7k rpms where it redlined, and that was enough power to give me a 14.9 1/4 mile

Please don't believe everything you hear. This guy does not know what he is talking about. Now go mod your car up so this becomes true!!!

heads and cam...yes. Maybe first gear dyno with full bolt-ons would have close fwhp.

eh?

WTF

Not even 300bhp when GM rated them at 305bhp and its accepted that they where underated anyhow. Think you need to go check some numbers up.

A 1998 car probably makes somewhere in the region of 325-345bhp SAE Net in stock trim.

I guess you are young and thus uneducated. That's not a problem we all have to start somewhere. But there is a limit.....

Although if you don't understand why it won't be making 400bhp @ 6000rpm stock then knowing the bhp figure is also pretty meaningless as well, as you'd have no idea what it really respresented.

I guess this question ranks along with "is the Sun hot?" or "2+2 = 5, I'm right aren't I?"

i agree. i'm thinking 330hp flywheel on a '98-'00, 350hp on an 01-02 due to the LS6 intake.

That is just plain incorrect.

That's more accurate. A stock '98 Z28 will be making nearly the same power as a '98 Vette, which are rated at 345hp.

WTF??!?!!?!? This is pretty damn funny coming from someone with that much work done to their car. A 98 LS1 FBody will dyno at 285-300rwhp. That is about 335-345 bhp.

I guess I missed the part where anyone said the car in question was stock. Assuming is not very accurate. IF stock it doesn't have 400hp to the wheels or at the flywheel. If it isn't stock then it is possible.
