Default Cheap Speed

Hey guys, just like it sounds, i wanna get the car movin for the best price. in other words, what mods would u guys reccomend for best bang for my buck if ya will.

i got headers, ory, lid, and cai. im trying to stay away from the idea of having a stall but other than that im open. i was looking into 3.73 gears but i got a 2 series and i heard thick gears whine and arent worth it. what ya guys think?

thanks

Rippin, honestly dude, you are gonna have to eventually get a stall. THere is such a huge ******* difference it is not even funny. Start reading through all the posts in the Automatic tranny section. If you drive an auto and want it to be fast...you HAVE TO HAVE A CONVERTER. I mean come on, seeing gains anywhere from 4 tenths to a full ******* second just from a converter!! that is wicked. I have a Yank SS3600 for my daily driven 02 SS and WISH i would have went to a 4000. 6 spd cars cant really **** with you at all from a launch...you will rape most all of them. And then guys with stock autos....haha forget about it.

No Stall, No care.

Get a converter, it is the best bang for the buck mod to an automatic car there is.

That's about what I was gonna say.......stall, nitrous, headers/exhaust and drag radials. That'll get you in plenty of trouble.

by that i assume you mean the consistantly faster of the two transmissions?

i'm gonna vote for a ported throttle body and if you're a 98-00, an LS6 intake.

yea i hear ya for sure. the only thing is...are there limits the the tranny cooler? (ex: how will it be if i take it 30 miles on the highway and back? too much heat?) and how are converters from a roll?

if i hav exhaust and a stall and drive like an animal (which i do, im 18), how will the rear end hold up with sum sticky tires (mt et streets)

thanks all

Ok big guy, you WILL be buying a good external tranny cooler should you go the stall converter route. On the highway there is ABSOLUTELY no difference between a performance stall and a stocker. They both lock-up. You will be turning the same rpm's and everything. Now, i have a 3600 with a high str and it takes just a tad more gas to get moving. But honestly, i got used to it the first day i drove it and now when i drive a stock auto, i hate it...absolutely hate it. When you put your foot to the floor with a high stall....HOLY ****!! launches like a bat outta hell. And as far as the rear, you have an auto which is a hell of a lot easier on rear diffs then 6 spds. I have stickey mickey drag radials and once in awhile out on the street i will get a dead hook...lemme tell you what, it feels like the ******* car is gonna pull a wheelie. Dont be worried about breaking your rear, dont let that be the reason why you dont get a stall.
