well, have ridden a cobra with over 500 to the ground, let me say, it was probably the fastest car ive ever riden in and it was sweet!! But i thought about if it were me, which would i buy, and low and behold finger clicked on vett!!!!!!!!

well i have driven a cobra and a z06 both are fun as hell. but they are diffrent cars.
the z06 HANDLES!! LOOKS SEXXY lowered and sittin still!!!! thats my favorite part, i wasnt really impressed by the pull. i know its a LS6 but didnt wow me much and it had headres and exhaust. the corners and braking were where loved to let that thing hang out.
down side , interior for 50Gs looks to plastic and i drive a 4thgen. i just think it looks like there was no time put into it the E-brake handle goes outside the crapet and looks slapped together. the seat/shifter position for me was horible i didnt like the was the shifter felt.. it felt really high the forward. like i was tryin to punch someone when i hit 3rd. and no back seat.

the cobra i drove and i wne tfor a ride last night in since after like 3mo i got my buddie to get an 04. love the WHINE and the PULL throttle responce the MOTOR/TRANNY/DRIVELINE rocks. (for a 281 with a blower(NOT FAR)) interior i like better the the vette and has a back seat. cheap mods 999$ kit(intake-pulley-ported charger-programmer) picks up 130HP (NOT FAR) looks orgasmic lowered with big *** tires or doing about anying burnout,drift, sitting and the gas station.

bad wheel hoppppppp!!!!! handleing!!!! its so heavy you can feel it. i also didnt like the shifter position felt like i was trying to find it over in the pass side seat way to far away.

i have a family and need a back seat if i was single and had money i would have a Z with a wipple.

i voted COBRA

if you got friends that wanna come and sit in the back seat while you smoke a Z after a couple hrs and hundred dollars COBRA

I drove my friends 04 cobra 2 days ago. His cobra has a 2.76 pulley, intake, LT's, Catted H, SLP loud mouth and jusssttt WOW! IT pulls so hard its just crazy. Can't wait till I get my cobra this month. Voted for the COBRA

hands down.. z06. in reality alls a cobra is.. is a fast mustang. and everyone and their dog has a mustang.

Get a Z06 and throw a Kenie Belle on it and call it a day. The Z06 is just a badass car. Cobra's are nice but like some have said the vette is a "panty dropper"

Both are nice fast cars. The vettes going to be alittle faster stock vs. stock. The vette will also handle better. I think that the mustang will be more expensive to mod. Have you seen the price of the cams??? Over 1200.00 the last time i looked. You can get alot of power from the supercharger pulley upgrade on the mustang cheaply though. I would go with the vette IMO, throw a turbo, supercharger, or NOS and don't look back.

z06. its drivetrain is strong enough and it has an obvious weight advantage and needs less HP to run a similar ET.


though expensive with boltons they respond very well. its just a more refined setup that does everything well.

For me It all depend on how far you want to go with the car. If you want to not spend too much money on mod's and have 500 rwhp now, I would get the Cobra. But on the other hand if you want to spend a little money I would start with a better platform to begin with.The Zo6 vett is way lighter,and in the long run if you were to put in a forged 402,408 or even a 427 with a turbo or maybe a 300shot of nitrous and having less than 3000lbs would be bad ***. You wont be worrying about too many KB Cobra's. I vote for the Vett.

I'd take a '03 Cobra over an '01 Z06 anyday. '04 Z06 would be another story.
An '06 Z06 is a no brainer.

Both are great cars. It's really dependent upon what you're looking for.

for the price of bolt ons to make a 500rwhp cobra you can put a cam and exauhst on a vette and still be faster, handle better, and look better.

Well seeing as how you just want a play car, the cobra is going to be the cheaper route to have a fast street car. But, the vette is going to be equally fast, and a head turner. You'll get a few looks in a cobra, but in reality, MOST people, not all, but most, will just see another Mustang driving by and not pay attention. I really like the cobra look, but it really is just a fast mustang with subtle changes to the styling. The Z06 is a head turner all the time! Better handling by far, more comfortable, just an overall sleeker car. And mod for mod, the Z06 is going to be much faster than the cobra, at least in my experience. I watched a blown Z06 trap 142 at the track a couple of weekends ago. It was the sickest thing I have ever seen. He didn't even have traction until almost the 60ft marker, and still trapped a 142. He would have trapped much higher had he been on slicks. To me the Z06 is the obvious answer, but thats just my taste.
