I've got a boosted Firehawk and sometimes I think about swapping in favor of a Zo6 that I could daily drive.

Of course I picked 'Vette, I wouldn't trade my ride for a Cobra even though they are the only Fords I'm impressed with besides the Ford GT(40).

Vette, Vette, Vette. The C5 ZO6's still catch my eye, but go '04 or jump to the '06 / '07.

Unless you NEED a 4-seater.

How much are you going to mod it? If you're going to keep it stock or I/E only, then Z06. If you got full exhaust, intake, pulleys and tune on the Cobra it would be VERY tempting, even though I'm a Vette lover.

well ill probably do bacis bolt ons on both cars....then maybe after its paid off do something big like turbo cobra or turbo vette...dono....i doubt ill keep either one that long....considering the longest i have ever kept a car is 1 year

This is a no brainer. Z06 all the way. Look at it this way, you can get ~460 rwhp with bolt-ons with the cobra but thanks to its 600 lbs weight advantage, the Z06 doesn't need nearly that much power to be as fast. And I think the Z06 looks so much better it's ridiculous. The only reason why I think anyone should ever take the Cobra in this decision is if you can't afford the Z06.

ok well put it like this.....it seems pretty damn easy and cheap to get about 500rwhp with the cobra....what would it take hp wise to get the vette to take it on the streets?

well you could just slap nitrous on it, bu so could the cobra. A h/c package should get u 500RWHP if you push the tune to its limits on stock cubes

I've driven both. I choose the Z06 because it's lighter, handles better, has better interior, has more potential, has a bigger engine, is an awesome daily driver, better seat position, better shifter, the heads-up-display, cheaper insurance, much more refined, doesn't look like it belongs in a high school parking lot, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I've got love for the Cobra too, but it's not a car I could really see myself driving given the alternatives.

For me, i would get the Zo6 hands down. He already said they were the same price...

The Zo6 is a faster car stock for stock. Actually, it's kind of a lot faster. The vette has more a tad more Rwhp and is a lot lighter. The 03/04 Cobra's are great for modding, but then you will be like everyone else...In a Zo6, it's just raw power and people will always second look your car.

I have driven both and it really depends on what your going to do with it. The Zo6 is comfortable to me. I hate the shifter on the cobras. The design just seems so worthless. Be careful, you might bang your hand going into 3rd...

I know everyone keeps talking about the cobra whine. But, have you ever heard a Zo6 with a catback? I would rather have that any day. Good lord, it sounds amazing.

The vette is a better car in general. A bolt on Zo6 responds very well too.

Keep in mind, if a cobra has 470Rwhp, your Zo6 is not going to need that much power to take the cobra. Weight is critical.

I've got a '04 Cobra with a pulley, intake, catback, tune, solid axle w/ 3.73s. It's a fun car and has gobs of power, especially down low, but I've driven a '04 Z06 and man....the whole package with the Z was just light years ahead of the Cobra. The braking, handling, light feel, better interior, better build quality and all that puts the Cobra to shame and I fell in love with the HUD on the Z instantly. Like others said, the Cobra is just a fast Mustang, and with it comes all the squeeks, rattles, clunks, crappy paint, bad build quality, etc that every other Mustang on the road has. FWIW, I hear the insurance on vettes is cheaper, too. I've raced and beat a couple Z06s with a few bolt ons (intake, catback, etc.), but the quirks of the Mustang are getting old. I'd trade for a Z06 in a heat beat. I parked next to a couple C5s tonight at Hooters that were lowered with some nice wheels, and all I could think about were how much better they looked than my car. Can't afford to get into a Z right now though. If you can afford it, go for the Z. That's what I voted.

I dunno if its me..but i can never find a good cobra driver!!! I mean ive raced serveral 03-04 cobras myself...with pulleys and intake and this and that..and i dont see much to them. When i race them. i beat them most of the time. I mean, i do have a cam/stall/headers and im pretty modded out as well, but I didnt pay $30K for my ride... Cobras really havent impressed me yet.. i think they look badass though.....but even ford guys tell me that most of the guys who own cobras cant even drive the car well..maybe thats where most of the problems lie... for me, i would chose an 02+ Z06 vette anyday over a cobra.. theyre almost in the same price range.. well, the 02 Z06's are now..with some mileage...but my vote goes for the Z06 vette!!!!

Get the cobra then. You'll have more fun with it since bolt-ons will give you more HP per $$. If you were going to keep the car, then definitely get the vette.

id say get the vette. i love the styling, handling, power, and of course the panty dropping effect. most people(un-educated) think of there moms mustang when they hear you got a cobra, but people know you mean busniess when you say you got a z06 corvette. you said you would most likely turbo it any ways, so forget about power and go for looks and handling. but the sound of the cobra is amazing. reguardless your going to get a badass ride.

Your right, since it's a KB cobra, the ride must be entirely different. Only thing that i see changing would be speed...

How about one of those vettes in the video posted above? I think i would rather ride in one of those.

I would go Vette for the simple fact that a mustang has to put a supercharger on their motor to make it fast. A ZO6 is just SEXY!!!!!
