I just talked to my friend right now. Anyway he just bought a 04 silver cobra about 2 months ago and now he's selling it for a 02-04 ZO6.

just wondering....why is he getting rid of it? what did he like about the cobra and what didnt he like?

Well he said that the interior was cheap and how its built shitty compared to the C5 ZO6 He also said that when he drove the zo6 it just felt like a better car all around. Faster stock for stock and the handling felt good. I never drove a ZO6, but a pullied cobra felt FUN to me!!

WOW I just got insurance rates....all I can say is WOW!!!!

the z06 was $100/month full coverage

cobra was $160/month full coverage

I pay $130/month right now for my ws6....WOW Im kinda speechless!! I didnt think the z06 would be cheaper then the cobra or the ws6 at that! CrAzY!!!

go with the z06. i traded my full bolt on 03cobra vert for an 02z06 if that helps you out and i don't regret it one bit.

I know I'm a newbie here but I was at that same point in 2004. I test drove both and after driving them back to back it was hands down the Z06. I had my son with me who was 19 at the time (he is a VW Audi guy & dislikes gm) and he tried to talk me out of even going to look at the Z, and he really liked the cobra. After about 30 seconds in the Z06 he looked at me and said you have to buy this car so I did.

Well...if what your main purpose is going to be tryin to hustle some money...id say go with an 04 Z06. NA to start with, very easy to port the stock heads and get a cheatr cam and make 450+hp in "stock looking" form. And if you want to take it a step further...put a nice hidden kit on there and spray a 150shot and get spotted out by those smaller pullied cobras! It pretty well known what a cobra with some of the mods will put down and their IRS sucks *** on the street....but thats just from experience in seeing that first hand. Then once you are making that power in "stock looking" form...the power to weight ratio is AMAZING!

but just my .02.....do what you want, you wont be disappointed with either car

More like 450-460 with those mods but whos's counting.


ive got a friend that put down 478 rwhp with only a pulley ,k&n,catback,and tune.i dont do 2 seaters.

...lots of timing, lean A/F, or a very friendly dyno. 460rwhp is about
the max for those mods. Do back-to-back pulls and watch the heat
soak kill all the power.

thats only 18 hp from your estimate.there was many back to back pulls done
i did say the car was tuned.im just not a vette person

WOW..there seems to be some mis-information flying around about cobra's....I mean, not dependable cause they're 281s.....I can't believe I just read all 6.5 pages of this.

Yeah but what sort of dyno? Mustang dyno or Dynojet? Did it use any graph smoothing and was it SAE corrected?

478rwhp on a Dynojet is about equal to 447rwhp on a Mustang Dyno.

SAE correction could easily knock 10-15rwhp+ off and graph smoothing, or lack of can easily be worth 5-10rwhp or maybe more.

03/04 cobra's both had the eaton roots blower.
