Yeah...I'm aware of that. No lag either.
It lives perfectly on the dyno.

Don't act like you know something.

There are still plenty of people making 800+ hp on stock bottom ends with Cobras.

i vote the SS because imo it looks so much smoother. you can also get them to run really quick. sure you can get the cobras up to astronomical #'s but for the price, on used modified ones, you'll likely find an SS that is quite a bit quicker.

get a red cobra with black wheels and black out the lights, put mean as HID's in all the headlights/foglights, and put a pulley on it, if you're not happy do more upgrades and if you get crazy jus spray tha biatch, just get a good tune and it will be scary fast and look good as well.

I just think that's funny because of;

A) the poll results
B) the other responses

Absolutely. He wasn't talking about the motor specifically. He was referring to ALL of the other parts that you need in order to RELIABLY run that much power. OTHER than the engine itself, the 03/4 cobra's are really meant to be kept at the stock horsepower.

Yep, rub it in. I had a partial NX kit and I gave the damn kit away to my buddy with a 16 sec Non turbo RX7...so when I get my traction problems handled I will be adding that too. NX only makes a 125 shot though?? Anyone even make a 150+ ?? Unit how the hell you get ANY traction??

Traction is pefect from a 80 roll. The NX kit I have is good for a
150 shot.

lol this thread is amusing. we have on one hand non mustang owners attesting to the greatness of cobra's, then actual stang owners making half way made up claims to their abilities and yada yada. seriously dude if you have the option to buy a second car go get a cobra, this forum is waaaay to biased to get any sort of advice. go test drive one and then choose

also why are we arguing power levels and stock cobra motor vs FI ls1's? its not even a legitamate comparison. its like trying to argue the reliability of a 500whp honda motor. either setup no matter how built will still die with to much detonation on a hot day with high boost on 93 octane.

who cares what it cost to be fast. IMO cost isnt something i would factor into something i would plan to build. hell its a car, it depreciates everytime you hit the gas, its not as if it was a sound investment at any point of ownership. buy whatever you can stand to be in for more than an hour at a time. i can count on 1 hand how many fast cars ive owned that where a total bucket to ride in due to bad driver placement etc.

Didn't we cover this about 3 pages back. You think it's as easy
as "putting a supercharger on a bone stock SS" huh? There's a hell
of a lot more to it than that.

BTW...that was a nice looking SS you had. I had
a base model 4x4, I mean Z28. It ran pretty well though
for the mods it had.
