BTW...that was a nice looking SS you had. I had
a base model 4x4, I mean Z28. It ran pretty well though
for the mods it had.

I would say 03-04 Cobra but Mustangs are a dime a dozen around me. My cousin recently picked up a 03 Sonic Blue Cobra with 24k miles, Whipple W140AX and full supporting mods for 24k. It also had a new longblock and supercharger assembly installed under warranty at 13k miles. Nice car but I like my SS better. In the spring we will run many times I can tell you that much. I think with my Ported heads, 233/239 cam full boltons and TNT F1 kit with a 150rwhp shot, I will get him but it will be fun nonetheless. For the price he paid it was a steal. I actually thought about picking it up myself.

So if he is running 17-19lbs of boost on the Whipple, you WILL need 600-650rwhp. You may be around 410-430 now but a 150 shot isnt going to get you 150rwhp and that may be a bit shy STILL. It should be alot of fun though!

Interesting comments here.
I break it down this way. Do you fit into the cobra? I'm to big for a mustang myself. My head hits and it really isnt comfortable. SO comfort should be looked at.
What about prices? Which cost more. What are your plans with the car. You can get an fbody for very reasonable prices these days. How much do you have to spend?
Stock vs stock the cobra is faster
However you can mod an ls1 for reasonable money and make it faster than a stock cobra and still maybe have less into it than the cost of the Cobra. My car ate stock cobra's for breakfast. Get a pullied one on the line and you really need a good running ls1 to beat it without n2o.
And FYI I've not seen a pullied cobra put out 650 hp in my area but I'm sure they're out there. Seems to be the avg around here is 500. But I guess you just need a different pulley? anyway a good shot of n2o on a h/c car will hang with a cobra
Black is by far the best choice in color for either car.
jayplay what are your dyno numbers?

Running Amazons' tune and it runs WELL. I do have to dyno it to make sure its safe though soon, time is money and when you have a shop that eats ALL your time its difficult to MAKE time. I refuse to " drop the car off " somewhere.
