Default Mods and wounds...

A little insight into the world of modding our cars.

It seems as though everytime I dig into the engine bay, I am guaranteed a gash of sorts that bleeds a decent amount of blood, I don't consider scrapes out of the norm, but these are starting to get damn frustrating as they are on key digits necessary for the fine turning of the bolts in positions only a contortionist in training would enjoy.

So how many modders out there notch up the big "cut" each time they go and mod? I liken this to NASCAR's big crash guaranteed each race lol.

The way I see it, I've bled so much on my various 4th gen engine bays that my cars are now directly related to me though DNA by the sharing of bodily fluids....

Sounds like you might want to invest in some kevlar gloves and sleeves. Your hand and forearms will thank you.

yes after many cuts and busted knuckles, I found that mechanics gloves are your best friend and should have been given out at the purchase of the vehicle like an owners manual..haha

Default gloves ha ha

working in gloves is like beatin off wearin a rubber, you just cant get anything done.stop bein a ***** i cant and wouldnt want to count all my scrapes and burns.ive worked on cars for about 11 yers its part of it.now when you get some disc herniation in your neck and back, and carpletunel in your hands then you can cry!!!!

well said lol

Sory but the gloves leave much to be desired in the "feeling" your hands give when doing fine blind work. 5 days later and the cuts are but a memory and scar anyways.

My arms are a testament to the work I do, well my hands mostly, I wear each scar like a badge of honor. Now the back disc herniation and carpal tunnel is a damn shame because I don't think there's a thing you can do about that with the engine half under the windshield... every mod I do, the butt dyno and legs are near numb from being bent over for 5 hours...

thoes little ******* screws sticking out underneath the cowl are bastards. when i did my FPR they got me every 10 seconds

when i did my plug wires from the top, i only got 2 cuts.

my car fights back anytime im working on it, even changing oil it fights. and i have a leaking oil filter that i dont know why it leaks. its tight and the mating surface is clean and smooth. i just taped a maxi pad to the bottom of it. car is on its rag for 3000 miles as of last month.

The gods of hot rodding demand a blood sacrifice during any mods that are performed. Never fails for me to have some type of wound on my arms/hands after working on the car

I pop all the plastic rivits out of the piece right in from of the cowl., holding the seal. After many scraped arms I found that these are the cause of most of them.

tell me about it, it was so hot my forehead literally got stuck to the collector.. and if that wasn't enough, my gold necklace got stuck in between the pavement.. what a scene. I panicked for a moment.
