Post Recalls Or Problems?!?!

This is EXACTLY the thread I was looking for. I'm looking at buying a 2000-2002 WS6 Trans Am. Right now I am looking a 2000 with 12k mile, which is obviously VERY low. I know the late 90's models had some problems with rods? At least that's what I hear. Is there anything I should be cautious of getting into this 2000? Cause I know they worked out some kinks for the '01-'02. Sooo... Does any one know of any recalls or problems with this year? Or where I could find them? Thanks.

umm...the roof will prolly be bubbling, no matter which one you get...save yourself the trouble and wait for an 01 or 02 with a fair price, especially if its a manual cause you will get the better clutch, slave cylinder design, obvious LS6 intake (even on the autos), and you can say you had one the last year they made them if you get an 02

No man that's the thing... this is ridiculous, he wants $18k and it is manual... that's pretty fair, remember it only has 12k miles on it.

I don't know of any '00 specific problems. I never got any recall notices on my '00, and I owned it from 7/11/00 till 9/7/04.

Nothing wrong with the '98/'99 cars either. There are some minor differences throughout the years though.

well, that is low mileage and it is a manual but still, i personally wouldn't pay that much for it unless it was an 02...depends a lot on what you are planning to do with the car too, daily drive as a stock with a couple bolt ons car or be lookin for some higher hp numbers with motor work and what not. as far as the price, i wouldn't pay anymore than 18k for a car like that, but id be more inclined if it was at 15k or 16k

Just a daily driver, headers, exhaust, and lid only. And go to cars.com or something look around... that is REALLY cheap for that milage. Most are selling for above $20k if they have less than 30k miles... Thanks for the suggestion though.

trust me i looked for ages for one in a decent price range...the part of the country where you are located makes a bit of a difference i have found. the ones here in texas seem to be less expensive for some reason. with that setup, a 00 would be good and yea 18k definitely isn't outrageous but its not the best deal ever either...youll be pleased if you do purchase!
