Default 97 ws6 Vs. 2000 trans am

i am looking for a new car, looking to spend around $10,000. i am trying to decide between a 97 w/ ws6 package or 00 trans am. overall preformanceand suspension does the ws6 have any advantage? any suggustions would help. or maybe a 00 SS would be the best deal? thanks.

'00 Trans Am - hands down. It'll absolutely SMOKE a stock '97 WS6 and with a few mods, it's going to be WAY faster.

Yeah mod for mod the 2000 is going to be so much faster. A full bolt on LT1 might be a little faster then a stock LS1. I have seen full bolt on LS1 cars in the 11's. Its a much better motor and the aftermarket is just insane right now. LT1 LS1

Just an FYI, there are no LT4 WS6 cars. LT4 was only put into a limited amount of Camaro SSs and Firehawks.

Get the '00 car. Do it.

You might not find a '00 SS for 10 grand, but possibly a mid-to-high mileage trans am if thats what your looking for. I picked up my 99 formula with 34,000 miles for 10 grand even. But that was a deal cause the guy was moving to australia in a week and needed to get rid of it. You want the LS1 car. Even if you can't find one for 10k, i recommend spending the little bit extra to get an LS1 car (98-02) rather than the LT1.

...any 98 or newer f-body. Any 97 and older just turn away.

Peace,
Craig.
