due to additional equipment weight. I've seen some 14.50's out of them.

The LS1 B4C's were just Z28's without the badging and with mono-color paint (no black roof, A-pillar etc.).
Looks like a V6 with the only exception of the exhaust tips.

My dad bought a lot of crown vics from the cops, teh fact that the police Z28's can make it 150K+ miles is a TRUE TESTIMONY to the LS1 and its durability. Cops beat the ****! out of stuff! (including civilians ).

My dad is Oklahoma Highway Patrol, he had a 00 and 02 z28, both "stock". worked on turnpike and ran down a vette doin 140+ on a turn-around just to talk with him and bs. he had 03 and 05 vette and said the 02 z28 was about as fast as teh 03 vette with all his radios and stuff in there. he had 3.23s and some other small mods done to it though (shift kit, muffler, FRA, tuning). broke about 5 rearends and 3 trannys in 2 years drivin hell outta it. OHP has hayabusas now too .

majority of the z28s in florida were actually lt1's, there are a few ls1's but fhp is starting to phase out the fbody for the maurder
the weight in the z's wasnt that big of a deal considering they dont have cages, and alot of the equipment that a regular cruiser has. aside from the some very basic changes, that had computer tuning done to them.....more for longevity then performance

I got pulled over by one in August 2003 in the Raleigh-Durham area. It was a state trooper sitting under an overpass in a 98+Camaro. It was raining so there were numerous cars and motorcycles under them. By the time I saw "STATE TROOPER" it was too late. I was doing only 76 in a 65 though. Funny thing was I was driving a POS 89' Dodge Spirit 4cyl.

I saw a 99-04 GT cop car and a charger as well on my trip to south texas. The GT was in a podunk town that I went through in 2 minutes doign 40 (literally). Just a wide spot in Highway 77 South. (at least THAT part of it was).

B4Cs came about at the end of third gen production. 89 or 90 i belive. they had upgraded suspension and brakes, no t tops and aluminum drive shafts most if not all were 1LE cars also. with the LT1s the only diffrences were a bit stiffer suspension and no t tops available. all automatics had 3.23 gears and all had alumium driveshafts.
with the LS1 B4Cs the only diffrences were that the top was body color, never had t tops, it didnt say Z28 and all A4s came with 3.23s. other than that its identical to a base Z28 hardtop. after i got my B4C from the indiana state police with 130,000 miles on it it ran a 13.2 @ 104. bone stock, no drag radials, no nothing. i cant immagine what this car did when it was new. yeah cops carry around a lot of gear, but i highly doubt that the cop who had this car carried enough stuff in it to even bring it into the 14 second range. that means he would have to have over 1000 lbs consisting of him, a computer, radio, shotgun and paperwork, which is higly unlikely. even when police cars these cars were very fast and deffinatly quicker than 99% of the cars on the road
