I didnt read this whole thread but ill put my .02 in.

Your going to pay more for the 'SS' name rather then the 'Z28'.

I am under my mothers insurance and I pay $96 a month.

Got my SS when I was 19 and paid 120 a month full coverage and a $500 deductable. Now the car is a weekend toy and I am 24 and pay $85.00 a month for it full coverage with the same deductable. I go through State farm under my own name sense I was 16. My parents had no trust with my lead foot!! My first Z28 I had was a 94 when I was 17 and that was 175 a month.

Okay now that is totally FUBAR.

How many of your friends did you have on the policy and what ages were they?

Was it like a freakin' frat house or something?

Thats nothing compared to what you are about to face lol, I am 18, perfect driving record under my parents policy with me listed as the main driver and i pay 1300 every 6 months(full coverage in a semi-small country town). If you can, have your parents list themselves as the primary drivers and not yourself, this should help alot. But right now just go talk to your insurance company and see what yall can work out.

heres my situation-

When I was 17 with a clean record, and lived in Miami which has very bad drivers, and lots of theft/vandalism thus outrageous insurance. I was paying $1800 every 6 months for liability only on a 97 corolla (I laugh at all of you who think $700/6 mo is rape .) Needless to say quote for a TA with collision+liability was about $10,000 per hour. So I told them they could put their dicks in their own asses because I was tired of having it in mine.

I switched to Geico and their quote for the corolla was still about $280/mo liability only, but liabiility for the TA was only $290/month. I love Geico, they are the only reason I'm not still driving a low 20-second car. Some companies won't charge you up the *** for driving a fast car if you pay liability only. collision is a different matter.
